The Scare Factor:
8.47

Kelly Collins has been in the industry for many years and we have followed him around to many locations. We were truly excited to see the Scare-A-Torium this year. They have been in this location for 2 years and you can tell since the haunt has been extended and enhanced, making for an even longer and more frightening time. They have tweaked many things and everything is great. Scare-A-Torium has a convenient location and is worth the money, so if you are bored get out and see what the hype is about. See if you can make it out or become a patient. Don’t forget to meet Fingers the Clown on the Midway for his great game to win a prize!

Cast:
9

The Scare-A-Torium takes casting seriously which only enhances this haunt. They hold auditions and take the best so that you come face to face to with your worst nightmares. This year the haunt was lucky enough to have many drama students from local colleges want to become a part of the action. They are only performing for minutes, but those minutes will be amazing. The Collins employ a staff of about 180 people in which it takes about 75-80 to run this haunt every night. These actors have been put through many tests, have learned many scare techniques, been to many classes and much more. Some of the best scares are here and this year you will see some very young beginners learning the ropes. There are also zone coaches who have worked hard and displayed hard work and talent to be in that position. The Scare-A-Torium does an amazing job at making sure they have the best cast and giving them all the right tools to make a great night. Shout Out to the high energy clowns , Marko, and Fingers the Clown.

Costuming:
8.5

The Scare-A-Torium does an amazing job at costuming year after year. Again this is where some of the best people in the industry show off their skills. Here at the Scare-A-Torium you are not going to see Jason or Freddy. You are going to see unique characters that are exclusive to this haunt. The costuming helps create the characters and helps tells the scene. The costuming at this haunt plays a major role in the story telling. Shout out to the “Tiki Man” for his easy scare since his costume was able to blend in so well with his surroundings.

Customer Service:
8.5

The Collins have been in the haunt industry for many years, so they know exactly what it is like to have flawless customer service. Being the 2nd year in this location the customer service has been taken to a whole new level. They have all the lines marked and people ready to answer questions at all times. They are in a well lit area with officers on patrol to handle any situation that may arise. They have an educated staff with plans in place to answer all questions and handle all emergencies. They have all the proper permits and safety checks. The staff and the haunt do an amazing job in this area.

Atmosphere:
8.5

The Scare-A-Torium does a great job at creating the haunted house vibe that most people are used to. They are having a great season so far. The atmosphere starts begins at the lines that are outside where we were greeted by creatures from the haunt. When we got into the first room we are given the rules and then shown a film about the real Northland Asylum that was originally there many years ago. Once we got inside we heard the screams. We then entered the Asylum which is based off the back story of the original. This haunt utilizes it’s staff and creates very few dead zones. The Asylum is meant to scare you but when you get to Stinkers the mood lightens. This attraction was very entertaining and if you are afraid of clowns you will probably think it is scary as well.

Special Effects:
8

From being in the business for a while this haunt has learned the perfect blend of special effects. They have very minor ones such as heads rotating on a fire to major ones like the brother who is trying to escape in the beginning. They utilize every day things to help create effects. Some of the best at the haunts are included in the art work in different scenes.

Theme:
N/A

The Scare-A-Torium does not utilize an overall theme. They have two very distinct attractions in the haunt. One is the Asylum which is based on a true story of the one that previously existed in the facility. The second is Stinker’s Fun house which uses 3D clown technology to provide entertainment.

Fright Effect:
8.5

The Scare-A-Torium is a great haunt here in Central, Ohio. Located in a great spot they have quickly become a must see haunt. They have an amazing cast that has all the right tools. They have some of the best make up staff in the industry. With special effects, scripts, and many small touches it is amazing to see the Scare-A-Toruim become a must go to haunt. With all the right elements they will definitely scare your group or just lock you up to become a patient.
