Michigan’s first untethered, free-roaming Virtual Reality Experience is now haunting the Plymouth-Canton Community.

Plymouth Mi— Today, Plymouth Escape announced the immediate availability of
‘The Insanitarium’

The Experience
The cutting-edge hardware and software combination, at Plymouth Escape; allows patrons to be fully immersed in a sensory experience, without being connected to walls in any way. The result: customers can roam the halls of this haunted house and feel completely alone.

“I wasn’t expecting to feel so immersed,” said Josh Sims, one of the companies first customers and a Beta-tester at Plymouth Escape.

This can make the experience feel scarier than a traditional haunted house.
Customers are advised to take their time and enjoy the details of the experience. Patrons walk through several winding halls each with their own unique frights. Taking time to appreciate the immersion and detail of all the halls, can be challenging for most. Once they see and hear the detail of the haunted house in VR; it is hard to stay calm. Most come back to the
‘real world’ with pounding hearts and sweating palms.

The Details
Plymouth Escape is currently offering Insanitarium from 7 to 10 pm, Thursday through Sunday at the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex, PARC. Fans of the experience can follow along on Instagram @plymouthescape and #hauntroom217.

Changes to offerings and schedule will be announced on Instagram and on the company’s website: plymouthescape.com., Michigan’s first untethered, free-roaming Haunted house.

A signed waiver is required for entry with a recommended age of 13 and above. All minors are asked to have their parents’ permission, Children under 15 will not be admitted without a parent present.

‘The Insanitarium’ can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes depending on the degree of terror patrons are comfortable with. Yet most report feeling they were ‘gone’ longer. The low ticket price of $5 makes it an attractive alternative to other higher priced haunted Halloween events, it lets users get a feel for the technology and immersive experience, with little risk.
