Background:
Lauren never planned on loving haunted houses. In fact, when she walked into her very first haunt at 16, she was absolutely terrified. She didn’t want to go and had to be dragged through the entrance by her friends (who did a lot of convincing to get her there). By the time she made it out of her first house, she was completely hooked, and there was no turning back.
Despite her love for all things spooky, Lauren proudly claims the title of the most easily scared person she knows. Every haunt visit comes with the same hope: a perfectly timed jump scare that gets the absolute best scream out of her. The way she sees it, getting scared isn’t a weakness; it’s proof the haunt is doing something right. And what makes Lauren’s perspective even more unique is that she has never worked inside a haunt. She experiences every attraction purely through the eyes of a customer (a very scared one, at that).
Some of Lauren’s favorite haunt memories aren’t just about the scares themselves, but about the people she experiences them with. Year after year, she’s the one rounding up friends, convincing the nervous ones to give it a try, and proving that scary doesn’t have to mean you can’t brave it. Watching someone go from hesitant to laughing through their screams is one of her favorite parts of haunt season.
Outside of spooky season, Lauren is a full-on adrenaline junkie. She’s ridden over 500 roller coasters, gone bungee jumping in Switzerland, and tries to see every horror movie possible in theaters. Originally from Long Island and now living in Connecticut, she balances her thrill-seeking side with everyday life – working at ESPN and always counting down the days until the next haunt.
