The characters are what truly make Castle Blood! Without them, Castle Blood simply wouldn’t have been the same experience. Every year, these actors find a way to surprise us, and it’s incredible how they can maintain a dialogue and keep you entertained for the entire time you’re in the room with them. We encountered several different characters throughout the attraction, and each one had a unique game or interaction for us to participate in.
When we first entered one room, Catonine was telling us how much she hated doing paperwork. Well, guess what we weren’t going to be doing? Paperwork! Instead, we played a game with her. By the end of it, she had apparently grown tired of dealing with us and sent us off to wait in the crypt. These kinds of interactions make the experience feel personal and unpredictable, and we absolutely loved it!
Another memorable character we encountered was Scrye, the head of the lab. During our interaction with him, he had one of our group members choose between two shot glasses, one for himself and the other for our group members. One contained wolfsbane, while the other contained silver. As part of the interaction, we ended up receiving a piece of silver to help keep the wolves away! It was such a fun and memorable moment that fit perfectly with the laboratory setting and the characters’ personalities.
These are just a few of the memorable moments we experienced throughout Castle Blood, but we absolutely loved every actor’s performance. Their ability to stay in character, interact with guests, and keep the dialogue going is a huge part of what makes this attraction so special.
The costumes, makeup, and masks were also done exceptionally well. We absolutely love how authentic and original the character designs are throughout the attraction. Several characters featured prosthetics, and the results looked phenomenal. One memorable example was Grimstone, who was dressed as a gargoyle. His gray coloring worked perfectly with the character, and the prosthetic on his face was especially well done.
The werewolf was another standout, featuring a convincing prosthetic along with paws and claws that made the character look fantastic. Lastly, Hexibart’s witch-inspired costume and prosthetics were executed extremely well. Each of these designs felt unique and thoughtfully put together, adding even more personality to the characters and helping bring the world of Castle Blood to life.
