Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

A New attraction with familiar faces! While this haunt in this location may be new to the scene, the owner is no stranger to the haunt industry, and some of the faces behind the scares may look familiar to seasoned haunt-goers. Sharing the same acreage as another haunted trail in the Tristate area, this attraction has made an exciting turn this year, bringing something fresh to the table. But don’t let the name fool you- this is a touch trail that delivers a challenge and proves that being new doesn’t mean being inexperienced! It would be a joy to see… Read More…

Guest Experience8.26

The overall guest experience at Eville Studios was great from start to finish! Parking was made easy; giant signs and staff members waving light-up wands helped direct traffic throughout the parking lot. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the entire area appeared well-organized and well-maintained. There were also some fun photo opportunities and entertainment while waiting, including a giant skeleton outside with a table with costume add-ons for a perfect selfie station. There was also a gypsy inside a tent walking around with a deck of cards to tell your future. Ticket flow was managed very well, with groups… Read More…

Immersion6.77

The immersion began immediately with a twisted, bloody circus atmosphere that set the tone for the experience. Tents, a skeletal selfie station, a bonfire, and a scare actor on stilts portraying a sinister clown or jester helped bring the hellish environments to life. While the overall storyline wasn’t always clear, references to the Goat Man throughout the haunt helped establish the underlying narrative of escaped insane patients who had joined the dark cult of Goat Man Grove in the woods, creating makeshift structures, camping in the woods, and eventually building a temple dedicated to the Goat Man. These environmental details… Read More…

Special Effects5.94

Eville took a more practical approach to special effects, allowing the environment and scare actors to do more of the work in bringing the haunt to life. Sound effects were primarily driven by the actors’ shrieks and the banging of metal, with a broken radio in one of the tents delivering a warning that added to the unsettling atmosphere. Despite being outdoors, the realism of the makeshift structures was impressive. One standout example was a scene designed as a store, complete with a countertop, chairs, and shelving that made the space feel authentic to the story. Animatronics and moving props… Read More…

Characters7.36

The placement of the actors along the trail felt well thought out, allowing for some open walking space between encounters. In certain areas, this was likely intentional and appropriate given the trail’s size and the presence of a ditch along one side. The actors did a great job embracing their roles, particularly those portraying the escaped patients. Their unsettling screams, random giggles from the darkness, and crazed behavior helped bring the characters to life. One even skipped alongside my teammate, adding a wonderfully creepy touch to the interaction! My personal standout was the Dark Priest, who did an excellent job… Read More…

Scare Factor6.46

There is something inherently unsettling about walking through the woods at night, especially when you know someone could be lurking just beyond your line of sight. Eville Studios did a nice job using their natural sense of vulnerability to build anticipation throughout the trail. When the scares came, many were intense; if you were touched, they would grab you or pull on you, while others took a slower, more psychological approach. A simple head tilt paired with a chilling laugh proved that sometimes the quieter moments can be just as creepy as an aggressive scare. The timing and placement of… Read More…

Value7.53

Eville Studios delivers great value for the price, with what took the team 24 minutes to walk through for $25 general admission. This brings their MPD to an impressive 0.96, offering nearly a full minute of entertainment for every dollar! Beyond the haunt itself, guests can enjoy additional amenities, including a gift shop, a free selfie station, food and drinks, and if you’re not into the haunt, then there’s a movie that can be had for $10! For those looking to take their visit a step further into the fun, killer-clown atmosphere, a VIP pass is available for $59, along… Read More…
