Ghostly Manor is a one-of-a-kind attraction, combining a massive indoor haunted walkthrough, a skating rink, arcade, and spooky giftshop. And unlike most haunts, Ghostly Manor is open all-year round. The walkthrough offers something scary for everyone; we bet you’ll jump more than once! Between the outstanding medieval facade and the attention to detail inside the haunt, there’s no question that this place is devoted to drawing the screams out from every soul that enters.
The cast take every opportunity to scare, even before you manage to park your car! Benefiting from year-round training ‘in the field’, the actors know all the ins and outs of the attraction. Their ability to move quickly ahead of you gives them an opportunity to scare you more than once…or twice! There is a great sense of continuity between scares, as all of the actors rely on the quick, startling scares instead of the often-irritating ‘stalker’ scare.
We were glad to see even the owners in full costume! From what we could tell, masks were kept to a minimum. Actors are encouraged to develop costumes that endure many nights of fright. The key to the costumes’ success is camouflage
How many haunts have their own spooky gift shop? The staff is very helpful and goes to great lengths to make sure every guest leaves scared and satisfied. If you happen to arrive during a busy period, there is actually an indoor waiting area that is almost as frightening as the haunt, with it’s own number of scares.
Ghostly Manor has one of the coolest facades on a building we’ve ever seen. Check out the giant dragon bursting out of the wall! And while some say the skating rink next to the haunt (literally) is a bit distracting, we happen to think it’s awesome! Where else can you go for a night-out, get your butt scared off, and then recover with a sweet couples-skate?
This place is loaded with special effects! Just around every corner something is moving. Every ploy to startle you is here, from the claustrophobic ‘blob’ to the corpse that pops out of the coffin. While a lot of the effects aren’t particularly frightening, they serve as the supreme distraction from the real monster that’s behind you, ready to go for the kill.
