I'm a scare actor in Florida, and I was in Tooele visiting a friend. We also checked out a larger haunt in SLC (I won't name names) and this was the superior experience between the two. The sets, while not movie quality, are still top-notch, and more importantly, the actors are phenomenal: high-energy, menacing, witty. The walk-through is long, but in a good way, because it's always engaging, and never a dull moment. This was my first touch haunt experience, and it's worth every extra penny. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I got covered in goop, and then I got a bounce-back ticket and did it all again. I've heard from locals that the experience before 2023 wasn't anywhere near as good, so if you went in past years and it wasn't great, give it a try now. You don't even need to wait until October 2024. They have a Christmas event coming up, and a vampire event for Valentine's Day that I wish I could be there to see. I'm so glad my travels brought me out to Tooele for a multitude of reasons, but Asylum 49 is a top reason. If you're nearby and you like having fun, there's no reason not to go.

I have been to a few haunted houses and even worked in one but none of them have scared me as much as this one. I had a panic attack it was that scary. The actors were great! The only thing I didn't like was how much they relied on being able to touch you. If you are like me and want to stop they will take you to a waiting area to wait for your group. Once I was out and took my wristband off everyone was extremely nice.
