Over the past summer, we hosted our second annual nation-wide poll, where haunted house-goers could vote for their favorite “Must-See” haunted attractions in North Carolina. We’ve tallied the results and posted them here so you can find the biggest, best and scariest haunted houses in the State! Forbidden Forest is a charity attraction that helps raise funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

#8: Nightmare Factory
Havelock, NC
Nightmare Factory is open September through November every year! In addition, they have two main haunted attractions and three side show attractions.
#7: Kersey Valley Spookywoods
Archdale, NC
Kersey Valley Spookywoods has been growing for three decades and now takes over most of a 60-acre farm! Their 2017 opening night will be September 29th.

China Grove, NC
Reapers Realm Haunted House and Trail has many new things to show their fans for the 2017 season! Also, their opening night will be September 29th.
#5: The Horror Fields
Hudson, NC
For 2017, Horror Fields will consist of three attractions. They are: Gory Tales of the Helena St. Hellbillies, Horror House of 3 Dimensions and Terror Town. They also have a photo booth, gift shop and more!
#4: Hallowed Grounds Mill Haunted Attraction
Hildebran, NC
Hallowed Grounds is an indoor haunted attraction. They say over 90% of the Mill has been remodeled for this season.
#3: Woods of Terror
Greensboro, NC
Woods of Terror consists of multiple haunted attractions, as well as a Monster Midway. They have also made their way on multiple top-rated lists in the past, so we highly recommend a visit!
#2: Zombie Hollow
Gastonia, NC
Zombie Hollow is a haunted trail that is located at Lewis Farm. So the story goes, a virus could not be contained and they lost control. It is said that it is now taking a life of it’s own… living in the bodies of the departed.
#1: Boogerwoods Haunted Attraction
Rockwell, NC
Boogerwoods is a charity haunt where all proceeds benefit finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. They are known for some of their very unique special effects. They also use tour guides in order to give each of their customers a complete show.
