Dallas:
I was born and raised in Iowa, growing up as a typical farmer’s kid. For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed visiting haunted houses. The first haunted attraction I ever attended was a small, local haunt. My dad assured me it would be suitable for a 9-year-old, but it turned out to be terrifying. Despite that, I couldn’t resist going to haunted houses in the future.
In 2018, I joined our local haunted house, initially without any intention of staying long-term. However, that changed after I experienced my first scare, going all the way to being a night coordinator and the slider everyone knew. Eventually, I “retired” from that haunted house to focus on my family. My team member is my beautiful wife, Katie.
Recently, I came across a post on Facebook by The Scare Factor, which mentioned they were looking for a team member in Iowa, where they had none. He decided to reach out and after three long weeks of mock reviews, I’m thrilled to say I’m joining the crew!
Katie:
Katie was born in Indiana and she got into haunted houses by watching Knott’s Scary Farm on YouTube and she thought she would enjoy being a haunt actor. In 2014, she was invited to join Nightmare on 3rd Street in Ottumwa to help raise money for DARE. When they shut down, she still was interested in being a part of the haunt world and joining another local haunt. Katie joined the haunt Dallas worked at in 2020, which was ran by the same people from her first haunt!
Fun fact: Katie and Dallas acted in the same room four years apart!
