Casey Moriarty is a professional freelance writer, full-time educator, and licensed boat captain from Orange County, California. He’s been fascinated with Halloween, the haunt industry, and everything spooky for decades, and has a particular obsession with masks, makeup, and special effects. He’s been extremely fortunate to find an amazing wife in Alyssa, who shares his passion for visiting haunted attractions. During the Halloween season, they’re busy attending as many haunts as possible, and during the rest of the year, Casey continues to absorb anything related to the art of haunting, whether by visiting year-round events, attending seminars and classes by industry professionals, or simply by watching YouTube videos about Halloween.
Jesse Moriarty is a professional illustrator with a background in sequential art, as well as a traveling educator who visits California schools to teach them about the wonders of laser science. Living only a scant few miles from Buena Park’s infamous Knotts Scary Farm, Jesse has found the haunted attraction business impossible to avoid. Each autumn, he visits various haunts and other seasonal activities, where he appreciates them with the trained eye of a journeyman artist. He’s also a seasoned Dungeon Master, feared regionwide for his ruthless treatment of player characters and beloved NPCs.
Alyssa Elder is a trained actor, writer, and filmmaker whose short science fiction film, “The Vanishing Point,” recently debuted on YouTube after its premiere at the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana, California. A rugged outdoorswoman and athlete, Alyssa is a seasoned rock climber and skilled sailor. She’s also an avowed lover of Halloween and all things spooky, eagerly anticipating the chance to visit pumpkin patches, browse the seasonal dishware at Pottery Barn, and look for creepy adventures wherever they may be found. Her background in the arts and interest in design and decoration have made her a discerning visitor to many haunted house attractions, which she regularly attends with her husband, Casey.
Danielle is a die-hard horror fan who lives and breathes the macabre, consuming the genre on a daily basis. She’s seen more horror movies than most people have seen regular movies, and is a pro at horror trivia. Danielle makes it a point to seek out the spookiest experiences, from horror events and haunted houses to historical sites and ghost tours, attending as many horror-themed attractions as possible, whether local or while traveling. Alongside her friends, Danielle helps review Southern California’s haunted attractions for The Scare Factor, bringing her love for all things terrifying into every rating, review, and video. She’s excited to share her experiences with fellow horror fans and help others find their next fun outing and scare.
