What Is This?
What is a “Score Sheet?”
Score Sheets are our way of letting you know how we came up with our scores for this review. Each of our review categories are broken down into several questions that we ask ourselves when we leave the attraction. Each question gets its own score from 1 to 10. Each question’s scores are then used to calculate the overall score for the category. After that, each of the resulting category scores are averaged together to get the overall “Final” score for the attraction.

How believable were the actors? |
7.5 |
Most of the actors were very much into character, but there were a few younger, smaller ones in some areas that took away from it. |
How interactive were the actors? |
9 |
How well did the actors stay in character? |
8 |
They all stayed in character, which is important here as the character is what creates the creep factor. |
How well did the actors work with their props and surroundings? |
8 |
The actors used the sets, woods, and cornfield well as both hiding places and part of their character. |
Were there enough actors? |
7 |
How well did the actors use dialogue? |
7.5 |
Again lots of talking in character, but too many wanting to play Hide and Seek, not diverse enough. |

Character development was very good across the 5 attractions. |

7.5 |
Did the atmosphere outside help prepare you for what you experienced inside?

For the most part it matched well to what the theme was inside that area. The only exception could be a little more detail needed for the Maize Mayhem corn maze on the outside. |

The sounds that they do use are realistic and more natural to what the theme would be, but they are limited. |

Scenes were detailed enough, but the theme is mostly post apocalyptic, so the need for heavy detail doesn’t exist. |

Nothing really memorable. |

Lighting was well used, more so than sound, but still having to be limited for the theme. |

Theme |
Could you tell what the haunt’s theme was? |
7.5 |
The theme is all sorts of Nightmares and as such can seem a little unconnected as a whole. Would love to see the Dead End concept be expanded into the Hayride into one cohesive story with a number of different dystopian scenes that all fit within a common story. |
How well was the Theme executed? |
8 |
Was there anything that didn’t belong? |
8.5 |
How creative/original is the theme? |

Scare Factor |
How scary was it? |
7.5 |
Not terrifying, but that sense of dread and uncertainty in your stomach is just so overwhelming here. |
How well did they provide scares to the entire group?
|
| 8 |
Only applicable for the Hayride as the other areas we were by ourselves, but the actors that came on the wagon certainly spread the attention around to all. |
How well did they use distractions? |
7.5 |
Mostly just used the idea of something being there in the dark that you are going to have to deal with rather than quick startles. |
How predictable were the scares? |
7.5 |
Most of the scares were straight forward. |
How many different types of scares were there? |
7.5 |
Mostly characters were in your face, or would pop out after a noise making scare, but would then stalk and freak you out since you are on foot with nowhere to go quickly to get away. |
How strong was the finale? |
8.5 |
Scare Factor Score: |

Entertainment & Value |
How long did it take to go through the haunt(s)? |
10 |
It takes awhile just to walk through the 3 main attractions and Dead End. |
Was the entertainment provided worth the ticket price? |
9 |
Overall I understand giving people the option to pay less for just the areas they might be interested in, but I think just having one ticket price plus RIP Upgrade would be fine as it would allow all the guests to experience the whole place for a greater experience and the extra cost is not that much greater. |
How effectively have they used their available space? |

The Scare Factor is modifying its review criteria for 2018. This means that some of the questions above may be different from how they were worded when this attraction was reviewed. During this transition, we will be adding, editing, moving and removing some questions to/from various categories. This means that some of the individual questions and resulting scores may not contribute to the overall score for the category that it is listed under. These potential inaccuracies only apply to reviews that were written before the 2018 haunt season. However, the overall category scores and the attraction’s “Final Score” will remain accurate. In the long run, we feel that these changes will benefit our visitors and the attractions alike by allowing us to be more fair to a wider variety of venues. If you have any questions about our review criteria, contact us today and we’ll get in touch with you as soon as we can.
