Haunt Name: Night Terrors Haunted Farm
Review Team: Team Old Crow Hollow
Review Date: September 30, 2017

Final Score: 8.11
Cast
How believable were the actors? 7.5
Most of the actors were very much into character, but there were a few younger, smaller ones in some areas that took away from it.
How interactive were the actors? 9
How well did the actors stay in character? 8
They all stayed in character, which is important here as the character is what creates the creep factor.
How well did the actors work with their props and surroundings? 8
The actors used the sets, woods, and cornfield well as both hiding places and part of their character.
Were there enough actors? 7
How well did the actors use dialogue? 7.5
Again lots of talking in character, but too many wanting to play Hide and Seek, not diverse enough.
How well did each of the characters fulfill their roles? Character development was very good across the 5 attractions.
8
Cast Score: 7.86

There were only a few and they looked to be original and unique to this haunt. Would like to see more of these characters.

Costuming
Were the costumes complete and believable? 8.5
Costumes matched characters and environment.
Was the makeup realistic? 7.5
Most of the makeup was spot on, especially clowns. But there was some spots where it seemed minimal.
How authentic-looking were the costumes? 8.5
Costumes looked creative, not just generic looking. Matched environment especially the guys at the end of Dead End.
How appropriate were the costumes for their scenes? (i.e. Clowns don’t belong in graveyards) 8.5
How well did the costumes make sense for the characters wearing them? 8.5
There are so many different types of characters but the costumes matched their world
If masks were used, how effective were they? 8.5
Costuming Score: 8.33
Customer Service
How well did they eliminate TRUE safety hazards? 7.5
Overall safe, and areas cleared, only issues were wooded terrain on the trail and dark areas in the cornfield but never felt like i was tripping.
How easy was it to find & navigate the attraction?

9
How professional, helpful, friendly & welcoming were the staff?

9
N/A there were no lines during our visit.
How effective was the queue entertainment?
Very professional, and friendly to the point of neighborly even. Just an easy going attitude treating customers like people.
Customer Service Score: 8.5
Atmosphere
How easily could you tell you were at a haunted house? 8.5
How well did they use music or sounds outside the attraction(s)? 7.5
Did the atmosphere outside help prepare you for what you experienced inside?

8
For the most part it matched well to what the theme was inside that area. The only exception could be a little more detail needed for the Maize Mayhem corn maze on the outside.
Atmosphere Score: 8
Special Effects
Were there enough sound effects used inside the attraction(s)? 7
Were the sound effects effective/realistic? 7.5
The sounds that they do use are realistic and more natural to what the theme would be, but they are limited.
Were the sound effects appropriate for the scenes they were used in? 8
How creative/original were the special effects? 6.5
Special effects are not really the focus or strong suit of Night Terrors.
Were the special effects effective? 6.5
Again not used much here.
How well were the scenes detailed? Did anything look out of place? 7.5
Scenes were detailed enough, but the theme is mostly post apocalyptic, so the need for heavy detail doesn’t exist.
Did they have any impressive special effects? 5
Nothing really memorable.
How well did the haunt use lighting? 8
Lighting was well used, more so than sound, but still having to be limited for the theme.
Special Effects Score: 7
Theme
Could you tell what the haunt’s theme was? 7.5
The theme is all sorts of Nightmares and as such can seem a little unconnected as a whole. Would love to see the Dead End concept be expanded into the Hayride into one cohesive story with a number of different dystopian scenes that all fit within a common story.
How well was the Theme executed? 8
Was there anything that didn’t belong? 8.5
How creative/original is the theme? 7.5
Does the haunt’s location authenticate their theme(s)? 9
Theme Score: 8.1
Scare Factor
How scary was it? 7.5
Not terrifying, but that sense of dread and uncertainty in your stomach is just so overwhelming here.
How well did they provide scares to the entire group?

8
Only applicable for the Hayride as the other areas we were by ourselves, but the actors that came on the wagon certainly spread the attention around to all.
How well did they use distractions? 7.5
Mostly just used the idea of something being there in the dark that you are going to have to deal with rather than quick startles.
How predictable were the scares? 7.5
Most of the scares were straight forward.
How many different types of scares were there? 7.5
Mostly characters were in your face, or would pop out after a noise making scare, but would then stalk and freak you out since you are on foot with nowhere to go quickly to get away.
How strong was the finale? 8.5
Scare Factor Score: 7.75
Entertainment & Value
How long did it take to go through the haunt(s)? 10
It takes awhile just to walk through the 3 main attractions and Dead End.
Was the entertainment provided worth the ticket price? 9
Overall I understand giving people the option to pay less for just the areas they might be interested in, but I think just having one ticket price plus RIP Upgrade would be fine as it would allow all the guests to experience the whole place for a greater experience and the extra cost is not that much greater.
How effectively have they used their available space? 9
Entertainment & Value Score: 9.33

The Scare Factor is modifying its review criteria for 2018. This means that some of the questions above may be different from how they were worded when this attraction was reviewed. During this transition, we will be adding, editing, moving and removing some questions to/from various categories. This means that some of the individual questions and resulting scores may not contribute to the overall score for the category that it is listed under. These potential inaccuracies only apply to reviews that were written before the 2018 haunt season. However, the overall category scores and the attraction’s “Final Score” will remain accurate. In the long run, we feel that these changes will benefit our visitors and the attractions alike by allowing us to be more fair to a wider variety of venues. If you have any questions about our review criteria, contact us today and we’ll get in touch with you as soon as we can.
