Cast Review:
Screamville Haunted Attraction was filled with actors in most areas. There were other areas, such as the transition zones, that needed a bit more activity to keep the scares flowing.
The actors in the “scare zones” played their parts very well! We appreciated some of the unique dialogue. Virgil Branson told us the story about Sarah and the corn. Then there were smaller lines like the pigman asking us if we liked pork and getting angry for saying yes.
One of the best performances was by the possessed girl in the bedroom. She was standing on a bouncing bed and bent backward to get as close to us as possible. Horrifying! We also really enjoyed the performance of Bobo the Clown. He was hilarious!
There were multiple times when an actor would be in the way and purposely block our path. The actors in the dollhouse, for example, completely surrounded us and it was overwhelmingly scary. We also really enjoyed the actors in the butcher shop. There were so many terrifying creatures it was hard to tell what was happening. All we knew was that we had to get out!
All actors behaved differently. We encountered those who would stand, stare, and stalk or those who would jump out and stalk. Some would run at us and block our path, or some were there to tell a story or keep us entertained. Everyone had their own purpose.

Costuming Review:
Each costume in Screamville was unique and detailed. Almost every one of them had the perfect amount of detail. To name a few that were incredible: the teddy bear, the scarecrows, the possessed girl, the pigman, the museum curator, the dolls, the zombies, & the clowns. Each one of these costumes looked amazing! One of the zombies stuck out to us: the first one we encountered had blood dripping from his mouth and he looked so real it was disgusting!
Screamville utilized masks on several different occasions. They had masks like the pigman, the scarecrows, the bunny & teddy bear, the museum curator, and more! Each mask looked incredible on the actors that were wearing them. And the ones that were just wearing makeup looked even better. Most of the makeup designs made the actors look incredibly realistic!
Many of the costumes fit the scenes very well. There were scarecrows in the corn, a possessed girl in a bedroom, dolls and stuffed animals in a dollhouse, a gravedigger in a cemetery, clowns in a circus, and many others!
The queue actors sure put on a great show! We especially loved the babysitter. He was carrying around a baby head (Ned) asking people to pet it and interacting with every guest standing in line. And of course, there’s the infamous “RoadKill” carrying around a speed limit sign as a weapon.

Customer Service Review:
This haunted attraction is very easy to locate and navigate. They had lighting at the entrance with a large sign and then parking flaggers directing you where to park. The parking lot is all grass so be prepared for mud on a rainy evening. Everything is well-marked with plenty of signage.
They had police on-site with metal detectors before you were able to enter. Everything else seemed very safe within the attraction. There is adequate lighting in areas that could be considered a trip hazard. They did very well in taking the corn stalks down so they aren’t in the way.
All the staff was very helpful, including the queue actors. From the parking flaggers to the ticket sellers, everyone was willing to answer any questions we had or help us and other guests in any way.
Screamville Haunted Attraction lists a lot of information on their website! You can find the dates/hours, location, ticket price, touching policies, and much more! Their website is a good place to purchase your tickets in advance as well. Feel free to also read about the Branson Family and how they disappeared.

Immersion Review:
The pre-haunt area at this attraction was so much fun! They had so many things to do and see. There were photo ops, rock music playing, vendors selling spooky items, tarot card readings, food and beverages for purchase, and a mini golf course for an additional charge. The lighting and the vibes were very spooky and exciting!
The storyline of this haunt is about the Branson family’s farm. Virgil Branson bought this land and mansion and attempted to grow many crops but corn was the only thing that grew. It wasn’t long after that that Virgil’s wife Sarah started going crazy and killing her own children. She became lost to the corn and now the corn houses many evil creatures. The story seemed to flow consistently throughout the haunt.
Each scene was different but each had a transition zone between them. Once we would get through a scene, we would go back into the corn, which was usually dark and quiet, but you could hear things of what was to come. We never ran into any other groups, nor did any catch up to us.
Once we exited the attraction, we immediately came upon a sign that said, “STOP, You survived cursed acres, reward yourself, play some mini golf.” If you want to play mini golf, it is for an additional charge. We just enjoyed the fact that we didn’t feel rushed to leave immediately. And they had plenty of things to do to keep us entertained for a while longer.

Special FX Review:
The sounds used inside Screamville were different in each “scare zone”. In some areas, there were no sounds but sometimes it wouldn’t matter because there were so many other things going on that you wouldn’t be able to hear the sounds anyway. However, in some areas, such as the transition zones, there were no sounds, and having sound effects may have intensified the scare factor. But, there were places like the circus, the dollhouse, or the crypt that had some effective, creepy sounds.
Each scene seemed to have a lot of detail. We noticed things like kitchen/cooking utensils strewn about in the kitchen or real-looking tombstones, candles, and a coffin in the cemetery.
The props and animatronics were incredible! There were gross props and realistic animatronics. Some props that stuck out were the fat creature in the bathroom, the skewered ballerina in the dollhouse, body parts cooking in the kitchen, and a gunshot victim in the Mortuary, and every prop in the museum was strange and unusual. Some of our favorite animatronics were the large boar and the giant clown.
Screamville did well using sensory effects. We especially enjoyed the cone light and fog combination and the second swamp we came across. Another great one was the bloody water in the bathtub. Yuck!

Scare Factor Review:
We certainly got scared inside Screamville multiple times. There were a few times we wanted to run away in fright. The biggest one was toward the beginning in the butcher shop. You first get bombarded by multiple actors with or without chainsaws and immediately upon exiting, the large boar animatronic is trying to chase you! Very unexpected!
The actors and animatronics did not single either one of us out. They seem to try to scare the group as a whole. Screamville does not allow more than 6 per group and they ask you if you want to go alone with your small group or join up with another. Of course, we chose to go alone. Smaller groups are always better in a haunted house, in our opinion, but Screamville does a good job of scaring everyone.
There were multiple times when the actors would use the animatronics or props to their advantage. For example, in the dollhouse, there was a bed and just as we were coming around it, an actor popped out and the animatronic was triggered, and another actor came charging at us. We didn’t catch any actors or props that hadn’t reset properly.
Screamville uses a huge variety of scares within the haunt. There were many jump scares, distractions, and blood and gore. But, they also used things like directional scares where they would scare from all directions, victimization inside the butcher shop; that poor victim didn’t see that pigman coming. We also noticed intimidation scares with the giant clown animatronic and phobias such as clowns, dolls, the dark, and huge monsters.
The ending of Screamville is similar to other haunts but they added a small twist. You first run into a giant animatronic, then you come across a chainsaw actor chasing you out of the haunt. Intimidating!

E&V Review:
Screamville is so much fun! They never fail to entertain us with all the actors, props, animatronics, corn, and more! We would agree in saying that this haunt feels long enough based on its ticket price.
The entertainment available with the ticket price, excluding the main attraction, is quite fun. We always enjoy just being around haunted houses. This one has so many lights, photo ops, and spooky queue actors, that they make it a lot of fun!
The ticket price is $25 per person. You definitely get your money’s worth in this haunt! We can’t say enough good things about it. Compared to other haunts in the area, the price is fair and worth it! We can’t wait to come back next year!
