Nestled in the farmland just outside Snohomish, Washington, Stalker Farms Haunted Attractions is where creepy clowns and eerie homesteaders collide; each bringing a distinct brand of horror to life. The attraction is divided into two unique experiences: Pogo’s Big Top, which delivers a chaotic carnival atmosphere, and The Slasher’s Homestead, which pulls visitors into the dark side of rural life. We were captivated from the moment we entered Pogo’s Big Top, where giggling clowns seemed to appear and vanish, keeping us guessing with their unpredictable antics.

Crossing over to The Slasher’s Homestead felt like stepping into another time in an alternate reality. The homestead was a grimy, distressed farm where every shadowed corner felt like a trap. Stalker Farms didn’t stop there; they’ve created an entire night of entertainment with food vendors, a beer garden, carnival games, and a marketplace. With such a broad offering, Stalker Farms has something for everyone in the family. If you’re looking for an entire evening of thrills, read on for the details of our night at Stalker Farms.

Cast: 6.63

Did it seem like there were enough actors? (25% of score): 6.25

How interactive (verbally, physically) were the actors? (20% of score): 6.5
Was there a good variety of characters (behavior)? (20% of score): 7

Stalker Farms’ original characters add a distinct flair to each haunt, infusing fresh energy into the attraction. While the cast played their roles well, they seemed to rely more on surprise moments than on interactive scares, leaving us wishing for more one on one engagement. Even so, the actors at each entrance set the tone perfectly, building anticipation and teasing what lay ahead.

Our first encounter was a clown balancing a large plastic chicken and tossing out corny jokes (pun fully intended). This character pulled us into a carnival world, that felt both zany and sinister, as we waited. Further into the Big Top, two clowns darted out from behind barrels, playing a twisted game of hide-and-seek as we walked by. It was hard not to laugh when a clown swung upside down by their feet from a sign in the cornfield. The playful absurdity added a strange charm as we explored the sinister circus.

The Slasher’s Homestead took a darker turn, with actors embodying eerie farmers who conveyed a strong sense that we were unwelcome. A grizzled farmer near the entrance greeted us with a knowing grin and enough ominous small talk to make us wonder what lay ahead. While the cast created some thrilling visual moments, we found ourselves craving a few more interactive encounters to heighten the scare factor.

Costuming: 8.5

How complete, unique, detailed were the costumes, accessories? – (35% of score)

Were the masks, makeup creative, detailed, realistic? – (30% of score)

How appropriate were the costumes for the respective scenes, themes? – (20% of score)

How believable-, detailed-looking were the queue actors? (See Note if N/A) – (15% of score)

Each characters’ attire was thoughtfully crafted, enhancing the distinct themes within each section of Stalker Farms. The costumes displayed impressive attention to detail, evident in everything from the gritty clown attire to the homesteaders’ rugged, rural look. Pogo’s Big Top took the concept of a “junk punk carnival” down to each character’s design. The clown costumes embraced a patched together style, blending bright colors with stains, and frays, that hinted at a dark history. Each outfit had a lived-in feel, as if these clowns had been performing in the corn for years. The makeup details were meticulous, no character’s makeup was exactly like another’s, which was impressive.

On the other side, the homesteader costumes were more grounded, with characters in faded jeans, flannel shirts, and rough sweaters layered over stained, simple dresses. Rather than following the usual horror trope of blood-soaked clothes, Stalker Farms opted for a more realistic dirt-and-grime approach, making the characters appear lifelike and unsettling. Each costume blended seamlessly into the environment, reinforcing the haunting, abandoned feel of the farmstead, and making us feel as though we were intruding on a forgotten, eerie settlement.

Customer Service: 9.45

Safety (Only dock points for TRULY DANGEROUS hazards!) – (30% of score)

How professional, helpful, friendly were the staff members? – (25% of score)

How easy was it to find pertinent information before arrival? – (20% of score)

Stalker Farms’ website was easy to navigate, providing clear information on ticketing, haunt details, and a FAQ section that answered all our questions. As a multi-purpose venue, Stalker Farms operates as Stocker Farms during the day, and their team successfully transformed the space into a nighttime haunt, shifting from family friendly agritainment to a more spooky atmosphere.

Parking, however, could use improvement. We found ourselves looping around for a bit while looking for an open space, as only a few attendants were present to direct traffic, creating a bit of congestion. A few more attendants guiding cars would enhance the experience for peak time arrivals.

Inside, the Stalker Farms staff were friendly and helpful, adding a welcoming touch to the atmosphere. From ticketing to path directions, every staff member we encountered was more than willing to assist, showing a dedication to customer service that matched their dedication to the haunt.

Stalker Farms features a lively midway that precedes the attractions, complete with carnival games, lively booths, and a bustling crowd. This midway created an electric atmosphere that kept us engaged as we made our way to the haunt. Upon entering, we were greeted by mist rolling through a cemetery, with scattered figures lurking around, hinting at the terror to come.

Stalker Farms made effective use of the corn maze setting, allowing the natural elements to blend seamlessly with the haunt’s design. The voices in the corn and faint, haunting music drifting from hidden speakers disoriented us as we wound our way through the dark paths.

The division between the two haunts, a literal break in the cornfield, acted like an intermission, offering a moment to collect ourselves before progressing to the next section.

Stalker Farms’ scenes were carefully crafted, blending homemade ingenuity with professional design to bring each area to life. Pogo’s Big Top plunged us immediately into an eerie carnival setting, starting with a spinning tunnel entrance that left us slightly off balance before stepping into the chaos of the Big Top. The tent’s eclectic, junk-punk design was visible from across the farm, drawing us in with its glow and promise of unnerving surprises.

Inside, a cluttered mess of barrels, wood scraps, and oddball decorations created twisty paths with plenty of dark corners for clowns to spring out at us. Illuminated signs flashed jokes at random intervals, adding a surreal layer to the carnival atmosphere. The Big Top’s unique design, with oversized clown puppets and flickering lights, created a dense, disorienting setting that amplified the sense of chaos.

In contrast, The Slasher’s Homestead was starkly quiet, an eerie silence amplifying the horror. From a burned-out general store to an abandoned butcher shop, each set looked authentically decayed, with bare shelves and smashed display cases, adding to the sense of desolation. At one point, a mannequin slammed against plexiglass, followed by a sudden air cannon blast, startling us as we moved past an old, rusted bus. The sets transformed as we advanced, from junkyards to derelict farmhouses, capturing the essence of rural horror.

Each scare felt intentional, with actors and effects timed to create moments of tension. While some actors gave away their presence with constant noise, there were still enough well-timed surprises to keep us guessing. Each group member had a moment of being startled, which added to our shared excitement. The haunt’s reliance on sudden pop scares, and a creepy atmosphere, made for a memorable experience that left us feeling entertained and on edge.
