Cast Review:

The attraction was packed with actors in every section, ensuring an immersive experience from start to finish. The performances were theatrical, with actors incorporating storytelling through monologues and encouraging interactive conversations, especially the actor who introduced the haunt, who set a deeply chilling tone for the evening and continued to menace us throughout. Each performer embodied the unhinged, cursed inhabitants of Bermuda Falls, delivering unsettling moments as they got close. One particularly curious character, a spooky girl being actively disemboweled, stood out with her piercing screams and convincing performance.

The level of interaction was outstanding! We were guided through the haunt by the actors, locked in cages, sprayed with water guns, and even followed to our car, where the menacing continued! The characters themselves were cursed zombies, and their behaviours ranged from aimless wandering to frenzied, flesh-eating madness, adding a thrilling variety to the encounters.

Costuming Review:

The costuming was well-suited to the characters and the abnormal atmosphere, though not overly elaborate. Makeup enhanced the possessed, unhinged look of the cursed inhabitants, adding to the unsettling vibe. While the costumes weren’t detailed, they fit within the setting, reflecting the curse that had taken over the area, and contributing to a haunting feel.

Customer Service Review:

The attraction is located at an easy-to-find aquatics centre and mini-golf course, with ample parking available. The site itself was very safe, with no noticeable hazards or issues. From the moment we arrived, the staff were helpful, even allowing us to move our tickets to an earlier time when we arrived ahead of schedule. The dedicated website made booking a breeze, and the team was responsive to inquiries through Instagram.

Immersion Review:

The pre-haunt areas were lightly themed, primarily because the haunt’s entrance is located right next to the main entrance of the mini-golf area and cafe. However, there were some terrifying touches, like flickering lamps and creaky doors waiting to be opened, which set a spooky tone. The storyline, involving a terrible curse that had turned the residents of Bermuda Falls into flesh-eating ghouls, was introduced in a theatrical way, immediately pulling us into the narrative.

Once inside, the attraction became fully immersive. The outdoor trail was incredibly well-themed, with intricate details that brought the cursed town to life. The haunt ended back at the mini-golf course, which, with its dim lighting and maritime theme, blended surprisingly well with the haunted atmosphere, making for a good conclusion.

Special FX Review:

The Curse of Bermuda Falls truly shined when it came to unexpected special effects. Uncanny, ambient sounds seeped into the already haunting environment, while clever lighting created a dim, yet atmospheric setting, allowing just enough visibility to heighten tension. The scenes were diverse and detailed, from a sinister cannibal village with a talking disembodied head to bone-strewn hollows and jungle-like areas, all enhanced by themed water effects, such as sinister skull fountains. We even got to choose our own path, taking a crawl through a very narrow chamber.

The special effects were top-notch, making creative use of stage magic that added an extra layer of unpredictability. Without giving too much away, the large-scale stage magic was woven into the haunt, leaving us genuinely impressed. Sensory effects like billowing smoke, surprise water sprays, and interactive illusions drew us further into the cursed world, making it feel like we were a part of it. The surprises are worth discovering for yourself!

Scare Factor Review:

The Curse of Bermuda Falls delivered brilliantly executed scares, combining sharp, jolting moments, with a strong narrative. While it made us scream and jump more than once, thanks in part to the infamous chainsaw maniac, the focus here was on storytelling through fear, making it slightly less intense than other haunts we’ve experienced.

What made the scares truly effective, was the small batch size, allowing for more personalized and unpredictable encounters. We screamed many times, with well-timed jump scares and some creepy, gory moments that added depth to the dread.

The finale was exceptionally strong, keeping the tension high until the very end: the terror didn’t stop when we exited, as villagers chased us all the way to our car, where the main narrating actor loomed ominously in front of the headlights, providing a perfectly chilling final image to end on.

E&V Review:

Though a short attraction, The Curse of Bermuda Falls delivered enjoyable scares that exceeded expectations. While the ticket price doesn’t include any extra on-site entertainment, at £15 per person for a 15-20 minute immersive haunt, it offers excellent value for money. For those visiting earlier in the day, there’s also the option to enjoy a round of themed mini-golf on the same grounds, adding a fun extra to your visit. All in all, it’s a well-priced, memorable time for thrill-seekers.
