Summary:
The Scream Chamber has outdone itself this year! You will surely wet yourself or run away screaming from this haunted house. Everything about this haunt is terrifying! No matter what you fear, you will experience it in The Scream Chamber. We came here last year, and everything is different this year. If you have been here in the past, be sure to check them out again because you will not expect anything!
This haunt is extremely easy to locate with GPS. It is well-lit with a large sign at the entrance. The parking lot is mostly gravel and they have many parking attendants available to direct you where to park. Once you are parked, you will go through security and immediately to the ticket booth. There are multiple options for tickets so be sure to read before purchasing.
The tickets given to you have numbers on them. Those numbers represent when you will get in line to go through the haunt. This attraction has so many things to do while waiting. For example, ax throwing, escape rooms, table games, hearse rides, etc. Some of these things are not included in the cost of general admission so be sure to check out the signage or their website.
Can you survive the Cleage Hotel and the creatures that lurk within?

Cast Review:
There were many amazing actors in The Scream Chamber! Every scene, hallway, and transition zone had them EVERYWHERE! We were happy and terrified to be surrounded by so many cast members.
Each actor played their part well. Everyone played a different part in the haunt. We encountered intense nuns and a doctor, creepy stalking dead people and a possessed girl, an insane chef and butcher. Some actors would laugh hysterically, make us do things we didn’t want to do, get in our way or corner us, and even crawl around on the floor, making weird noises. We even encountered multiple victims that were very realistic.
The actors of The Scream Chamber were incredibly interactive! Most actors used creative dialogue that needed a response from us. Some of the best dialogue we encountered was from the corpse that came out of the morgue freezer, the doctor and patient, the chef and assistant, the three clowns, the butcher, and the hillbilly with the shotgun. Our favorites were from the pigman and the hotel employee in the elevator. The pigman told us he was going to “turn us into a bathroom rug and pee on it.” WHAT! It’s the first time we’ve ever heard that one before. We also got to play “Simon Says” with the hotel employee. We weren’t very good at it.

Costuming Review:
The costumes were so unique! The Scream Chamber has done it again with creativity. Every costume looked like it belonged in a haunted house. Some of the best costumes were the nuns, “Bloody Mary,” the possessed girl, the corpse in the morgue freezer, the doctor, the chef, the church bishop, the three clowns, the welder, the toxic waste actor, and “Samara.” Our favorite was the swamp skeleton monster. It was very realistic and creepy! Multiple actors had blood dripping from their mouths. YUCK!
We encountered many actors wearing masks or makeup, and both were very realistic! Some of the fine makeup details we enjoyed were the frozen bits on the corpse to make him look frostbitten, the possessed girl looked like she had been possessed for a while, the doctor’s face looked like it was stitched together, and the butcher looked like he was being eaten alive. Some great masks were the guy in the skull mask and top hat, the two nuns, the church bishop, the devil worshiper, and the swamp skeleton monster. There are just too many to name them all!
Each character had a scene that worked well. Some characters worked well in multiple scenes. For example, we encountered a girl in a bedroom, a dead body in a morgue, a doctor in a doctor’s office, a chef in a kitchen, a butcher in a butcher shop, clowns in a circus, monsters in a swamp, and many others!
There were multiple queue actors that we enjoyed. Our favorites were the pigman and the Raggedy Ann doll. The pigman had such a unique voice that he reminded us of “Porky Pig.” The Raggedy Ann doll was super sweet, but it was fun to watch her scare her victims.

Customer Service Review:
This attraction is very easy to locate with your GPS and all the lighting surrounding the place. The parking flaggers will help you get parked, and from there, you will go through security and directly to the ticket booth. The Scream Chamber has a unique ticket system. They give you tickets with numbers on them. Those numbers represent when you will get in line to go through the haunt. It’s a great system because it can be a long wait if you have to stand in line the whole night. Everything is well-marked with plenty of signs, so you can easily find things to do while waiting.
Everything about this attraction is safe. We noticed police on site in case anything happened. There is plenty of lighting in the parking lot, and the haunt has enough lighting in areas where it is needed.
Every staff member we spoke to was very friendly. They were happy to help all guests in any way. Southern hospitality at its finest.
The Scream Chamber has a cool website with some helpful information. You can find information on dates/times, location, price, type of haunt, touching policies, the back story, and parking information. They encourage you to carpool due to the small amount of parking available. You are also welcome to purchase your tickets in advance on the website.

Immersion Review:
The pre-haunt atmosphere was incredible. We were impressed with all the changes and additions to the outside of the haunt. They added things like ax throwing, hearse rides, a DJ, table games, and mini escape games. The best part is, you can do these things while waiting your turn to enter the haunt.
The storyline was fairly simple: the Cleage Hotel is haunted by many different creatures and demons. Overall, the scenes did a great job of keeping us in a hotel. The only scene that was questionable to be in a hotel was the circus, but who knows, maybe that hotel had a fun room.
Each scene flowed very well into the next. The haunt used transition zones that helped keep the scenes separated. Many transition zones were hallways with numbered doors which kept up with the hotel vibes.
After exiting the haunt, we were back in the Midway area. This made us feel like we could stick around for a while. And we sure did!

Special FX Review:
The sound effects inside The Scream Chamber were mostly effective. The spooky soundtrack played over the main speakers made us feel like we were in a real haunted hotel. The circus could have benefited from some carnival music because we didn’t hear anything being played in there, but everywhere else was amazing!
Each scene was filled with details to increase the realness of the haunt. We even noticed cobwebs randomly placed around the hotel to make it seem like the building was old and hadn’t been touched in years. We also enjoyed some of the other things, like trees in the areas where we were supposed to be outside or filth all around the hotel.
The Scream Chamber used a few animatronics and many props. All of them were placed in areas that made sense to the scene it was in. For example, they used a falling bookshelf in a library, a sparking oven in a kitchen, and a toxic waste barrel in a hazardous environment. The many props used were things like hanging bodies in a devil worship area, “Jason” in a swamp, hanging meat and body parts in a butcher shop, etc. Just about every scene used props and animatronics well.
The sensory effects in The Scream Chamber were very well done! One thing we have not seen very often is eating food inside a haunt, and this attraction has incorporated it in the butcher shop. You will only get this experience if you get the touch pass because the actors don’t have a way to feed you without it. Regardless, this enhanced the experience greatly, and we enjoyed it! The Scream Chamber also used many different lighting styles and fog. We enjoyed the swamp because it looked like we were walking through nasty green water. Another thing we don’t see often in haunted houses is the use of different smells. They incorporated a different smell in the bedroom with the possessed girl. It smelled like this girl had been sick all over the room. We are just grateful we didn’t get any of it on us!

Scare Factor Review:
The Scream Chamber was, once again, terrifying! As always, we recommend getting the optional touch pass because it enhances your experience. But it is still horrifying without it. Every scene and transition zone has us shaking. There was only one brief spot where you didn’t get bombarded by actors. Otherwise, good luck!
They did a great job of scaring both of us. We decided that only one of us would get the touch pass, and the other would not get it to experience both sides. Of course, having the touch pass is scarier, but they still do a great job of scaring both of us. Because they have so many actors in one area, it helps a lot!
Distractions were used a few times, and scares were timed perfectly. The actors would come out of some random location when you would least expect it. We never saw them coming!
The Scream Chamber uses many types of scares. There were a few jump scares, such as a bright light horn that was sudden and unexpected. Distractions were used, such as in the swamp with multiple gillie monsters distracting us from the other one. The haunt used phobias, such as the dark, clowns, and enclosed spaces. Camouflage was used in the swamp as well, and the gillie monster’s suit was hard to see. Intimidation was used, such as multiple scary voices from different actors. Sensational scares have always been our favorite, and they have been used many times. They used all five senses in this haunt, and multiple times, two or more were used at the same time.
The finale was great as well. We encountered two chainsaw actors chasing us to the real ending: the black light room where you sign your name. This room is always fun because there are so many names of people who made it through to the end.

E&V Review:
We were highly entertained by The Scream Chamber and very impressed with all the changes this year! The length of this haunt is 18.5 minutes, and it felt like it was long enough for us. The scares kept flowing the entire time we were inside.
The extra entertainment that’s available, excluding the main attraction, was fantastic! We always enjoy seeing other things to do at a haunted house. It makes it feel more welcoming and provides more entertainment. The things provided with the ticket price are photo ops, bonfires, queue actors, table games, and a DJ playing music. They also had things like ax throwing, mini escape rooms, and hearse rides for an extra charge. We tried them all and loved them!
The ticket price seems a little high compared to other haunts in the area, but with the entertainment provided, it makes it worth it! We went on a Saturday, and ticket prices are different depending on the day you go. General admission was $30 per person, making the minutes per dollar rating 0.62. This is on the lower side, but, as mentioned, the entertainment provided is worth it. We can’t wait to come back next year!
