Cast Review:

The cast provides some well-timed jump scares and fit well into the areas they were placed in. Some of the cast members were placed into specific scenes and while I wish they utilized their scene more, they were screaming or banging around in their room long before I entered, which built anticipation for what I was about to experience. The screams and laughter felt genuine and unnerving.

One of the freakiest moments was walking into a bedroom scene with a girl chained up to the wall, begging for me to help her get home. I also appreciated that the person who had the chainsaw chase at the end did not break character and went after me this time!

The cast didn’t feel overall as strong as last year in terms of interactions and dialogue, but they still were able to pull out some good jump scares throughout the attraction. It also seemed like there wasn’t as many cast members, but it could be a result of the night I happened to visit.

Costuming Review:

The costuming was similar to the year prior. Using grease makeup and masks with their looks, and with a varying level of detail used amongst the cast. The masks appeared to be well fitted and looked fairly realistic. The makeup as well helped add to the realism to the costuming. The attire itself was simple, appearing to be fairly decorated pieces of actual costumes or regular clothing distressed for the haunt.

It wasn’t as memorable as the year prior, but the costumes all fit well with the areas given and had some distressing. Most notable was the girl who was chained up against the wall with her dirty clothing and messy hair.

Customer Service Review:

Unleashed was well-lit and had plenty of signs around the property, making it easy to find and know where to go. Just like last year, the entrance was clear and made it easy to know where to go. The staff was also polite and professional with guests, making sure things were running smoothly.

At this time, all of the haunt information can be found on their Facebook pages.

Immersion Review:

Overall, in terms of immersion, it was more so the same from the year prior. Upon arrival, it is fairly quiet and barren, with the exception of noises you can hear from within the haunt. The queue area however is much more innovative in preparing you for the haunt. They have a counter visible to all who come in once you are provided a number, and you can sit in pew seats that face a coffin with a corpse inside, a small TV playing horror movies, or a camera that shows jumpscares happening from within the haunt.

The attraction has a variety of different areas, some more detailed than others. The blank hallways in between took me out of the experience a bit and the transition can feel a bit jarring from room to room. The circus/clown area is one of my favorites, as it’s the most detailed with the various colorfully painted walls and posters. I also enjoy the house near the end of the haunt, as it is also fairly decorated and detailed as you move from the bedroom to the bathroom, kitchen, and living room, all of which have a very grimy feel to them.

Special FX Review:

The special effects remained mostly the same, though I did notice they added some new props throughout the rooms to give it more detail and added some animatronics.

I still really enjoy the tunnel, though this year I went through it on my own will instead of being urged to go through it like the year prior. I was able to confirm that there was more than one path to take, as I saw a bigger group opt for a simple hallway instead of the tunnel.

They also kept the same spark fence from the year prior, which honestly gets some of the biggest scares as you don’t expect it to be so close! The darkness works in its favor as when the actor strikes the fence, the sparks have a lot more of an impact!

Scare Factor Review:

You can expect some well-executed jump scares throughout this haunt and many things you wouldn’t likely expect from a more unassuming attraction.

While many of its scares still got me on a second walkthrough, some scares felt the same as the year prior or fell short in terms of intensity. There were some moments where the cast told me where to go or had to stop me from proceeding forward instead of offering some kind of scare or in-character interaction.

It was towards the end of the season on a busy night, so it could likely have been due to this that the cast was not at 100%. I hope to visit again in the future and see how the scares and the cast grow!

E&V Review:

Tickets are $14 per person, and I was able to go through the haunt in about 10 minutes! They also offer discounts on select nights, as this past year they had Spooky Youth Nights, offering $10 admission for both Unleashed and Wolfman’s House of Screams, a sister haunt of theirs!

With the short walkthrough time, this is a great in-and-out haunt to get your scares! We will be keeping an eye out for Unleashed and how it continues to grow.
