The “Hell” room had a cool fog-and-laser effect, Wallingford’s plus a 7-foot-tall demon buried in the ground that moved; meanwhile, the ghouls were climbing out of the fog and sprinting at us full speed. It was an overstimulating experience, in a good way. Then there was the mineshaft, with an explosion that rocked the building, and the miners yelling at us to get out. We weren’t safe there; as the TNT erupted, the energy changed in the miners, more hostile, more in your face. They did a great job keeping us on our toes, hitting us from every angle. The asylum made sure to hit you from everywhere as well: above, to the side, and from behind. Expected and unexpected throughout. They did a good job making sure you knew the crazy bunch had made it out.
The Finale was the Clown Scene. Spoiler alert! You get to walk down a path led by a clown inviting you into the tent where the smell of exhaust fills the air, and the music grows loud. Then the lights go out, and an evil laugh rings out. The lights kick on in flashing colors; the clowns strike with chainsaws, chasing you out of the scene, making flips and leaping all around, making sure you feel claustrophobic.
