Remember, this is not a “best of” list – this is a top list of haunts we feel that you need to add to your visit list this season for various reasons. #5. Nightmare Dungeon Haunted Attraction – Greenville, South Carolina
Nightmare Dungeon Haunted Attraction will bring your fears to life! Does visiting a 120+ year-old cabin filled with special effects and interactive actors sound fun? We hope you’re not afraid of clowns… The 2025 season begins on September 12th!
#4. The Fear Farm – Blacksburg, South Carolina
The Fear Farm will test your limits of courage! Included with the admission price is access to six haunted attractions, including the Abyss, Mineshaft Mayhem, The Coven, Confinement, Twisty’z Tricks and Treats, and The Farm House. The fun begins September 19th!
#3. Dark Castle Haunted Attraction – Elgin, South Carolina
Dark Castle offers three haunted houses with one ticket price! Included is the Dark Knight’s Terror Trail, the Dungeon of Darkness indoor haunted house, and Zombie Zone, a laser gun survival scenario. Featured in their midway is a Break Room where you get to purge away, along with an escape room. The haunt season begins on September 27th!
#2. Sweet Dreams Scare House – Easley, South Carolina
Sweet Dreams Scare House continues to be a highly recommended destination. Something that makes this haunt unique is that it offers an “R-rated” version that is slightly more vulgar, as well as being full-touch! So, for those who want to kick it up a notch, they have just the option for you! If you’re ready to brave this 1/4 mile-long winding path, they open September 19th, 2025!
#1. Madworld Haunted Attraction – Piedmont, South Carolina
We’re long-time followers of this upstate South Carolina haunt and have visited many times. Each year, the crew at MadWorld works hard to provide an evening of entertainment for haunt lovers and families. MadWorld has grown into something of a regional super show of the haunted attraction scene, drawing visitors from further and further afield. And it is with good reason! This haunt has really cemented its place as a destination and highly anticipated event. Even you can go mad beginning on September 5th for the 2025 season!
