There are so many, so we’ve created a creepy list of Halloween haunted house attractions that we’ve reviewed, visited ourselves, filmed, or are popular amongst many haunt visitors! Remember, this is not a “best of” list – this is a top list of haunts we feel that you need to add to your visit list this season for various reasons. #5. Nightmare on 13th – Salt Lake City, Utah
This local haunt lives up to its name–Nightmare on 13th. It truly is a nightmare. With their ever-changing haunt, each season brings new and exciting things! This single location offers two haunted attractions: Nightmare Haunted House and Institute of Terror. The horrors begin on September 13th, 2025!
#4. Hour of Darkness Haunted Trail – Farmington, Utah
Hour of Darkness Haunted Trail is located at Pack Farms Pumpkin Patch in Farmington, Utah. This outdoor haunted trail will wind you down a dark path with unsettling creatures and scenes of the night. It has made its way onto our top list for its popularity on our website and excellent guest reviews both here and on social media. The trail opens on October 2nd, 2025!
#3. The Haunted Forest – American Fork, Utah
The Haunted Forest “spans over 1,000,000 square feet of haunted trails, terrifying sets, and spine-chilling thrills.” For 2025, their feature attractions include: Mine Shaft Mayhem, Field of Screams, I Scream U Scream, Wolf Creek Nightmares, Krampus Returns, Curse of the Pharaohs, Uncle’s Chucky’s Pumpkin Patch, and Haunted Forest. Opening night is September 12th!
#2. Castle of Chaos – Midvale, Utah
The Castle of Chaos is one of the highest-rated haunts in Utah! Hailing from the the suburbs of Salt Lake City, it is coined by the locals as “one of the best there is.’ One of the most distinctive and spine-tingling features is its underground location, which sets it apart from many other haunts. The Castle is also known for their multiple levels of fear! The scares begin September 12th, 2025!
#1. Fear Factory – Salt Lake City, Utah
In 2024, Fear Factory hit the ground running and earned the highest rated score on The Scare Factor out of over 200 haunted houses! This is a must-see haunt for any tourist or haunt seeker looking for a good scare. The factory is made up of six buildings up to six stories tall, with two underground passages. Opening night for the 2025 haunt season is September 12th!
