There are so many, so we’ve created a creepy list of Halloween haunted house attractions that we’ve reviewed, visited ourselves, filmed, or are popular amongst many haunt visitors! Remember, this is not a “best of” list – this is a top list of haunts we feel that you need to add to your visit list this season for various reasons. Now… let’s get to this list of spooky shenanigans!
#5. Maniac Mountain – Buckhannon, West Virginia
“When the daylight can no longer keep the darkness at bay, night falls… the evil then creeps in to engulf the fields of Maniac Mountain!” Visitors brave enough can venture through all three of the haunted attractions at this single location, including The Haunted House, Corn Field, and Death Metal!
#4. Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum Haunted House – Weston, West Virginia
“Forsaken: Where reality fractures… and nightmares breathe.” Welcome to what was once hailed as a sanctuary for the broken, where Dr. Victor Ashcroft’s brilliance curdled into obsession. IN the 2025 rendition of the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum’s Haunted House, the doctor is convinced he can cure any illness, but his methods grow darker. One night, his final experiment went too far! Now, you can enter the asylum to try to escape, or will you join the countless souls who have tried before you? Check-ins begin on September 26th!
#3. Dungeon of Horrors – Moundsville, West Virginia
The Haunted House at the West Virginia Penn, known as The Dungeon, takes guests through the basement of the prison! Now this is a truly haunted location, so you never know if what you saw was a real ghost or a scare actor! “Will you manage to keep up with your group and not get separated?” The scares begin on September 26th, 2025!
#2. Twelvepole Manor – Wayne, West Virginia
“Twelvepole Manor is a Haunted Attraction located in Wayne, WV, and is run by the infamous Deadwood family.” This is an intense haunted house that will give you a run for your money, quite literally! Watch out for that chainsaw alley they’ve got going on, they love to make trophies out of body parts!
#1. Fright Nights WV – Daniels, West Virginia
Fright Nights at The Resort at Glade Springs is celebrating their Sweet 16th season in 2025! This is a haunt that represents the haunt industry well with its creative design team and entertaining acting. Here, guests can bring the family to enjoy the night out at a haunt that’s a fun place to delight in the sights, scents, and sounds of the Halloween season. You can also stay overnight at the resort, too! Opening night is September 27th!
