Looking for haunted attractions to add to your Pennsylvania Halloween plans? We’ve put together 10 Must-See Haunted Attractions in Pennsylvania for 2026 to help you discover some places we think haunt fans should have on their radar this season.
Our Must-See selections may include attractions we’ve reviewed, visited, or filmed, along with other haunts that stand out for what they offer, their popularity among haunt fans, or other reasons we think they’re worth checking out.
This is not a ranking or a “10 best” list, and these certainly aren’t the only haunts in Pennsylvania worth visiting. Think of this as a starting point for building your haunt list. Plenty more attractions across Pennsylvania are waiting to be discovered! This list is in no particular order.
So, where will you scream first?
Reaper’s Revenge – Scranton, Pennsylvania
Reaper’s Revenge near Scranton is the kind of attraction that can consume an entire night, combining a theatrical haunted hayride with multiple walkthrough experiences spread throughout the property. Rather than feeling like a collection of unrelated attractions, the journey keeps changing as guests move from one nightmare to another, with large-scale sets, intense actors, sensory effects, and some particularly unusual transitions along the way.
Returning guests will see a significant change in 2026. Reaper’s Revenge now includes six attractions: the Haunted Hayride, Lost Carnival, Delirium, the all-new Last Rites Funeral Parlor, Pitch Black, and Sector 13. One admission includes all six experiences.
Opening night: September 19th
Know Before You Go: One ticket includes all six attractions, General Admission starts at $59 plus taxes and fees, VIP packages are available, advance tickets are recommended, on-site ticket-booth purchases are cash only, an ATM is available, and parking is $3 cash only. Overflow parking with shuttle buses may be used on busy nights. Actors are trained and allowed to touch.
Portals of Fear – West Mifflin, Pennsylvania
Portals of Fear in West Mifflin takes a different approach to haunted-house storytelling by building its experience around literal ruptures into worlds created from fear. Guests become unwilling recruits of the Demonic Investigation Unit and are sent through portals connected to Rulos, a demon that feeds on the terror of those entering his domain.
That concept gives Portals freedom to jump between dramatically different environments while still tying everything together through one larger story. During our 2025 visit, the creative sets, characters, sensory scares, and constantly changing environments helped Portals earn a 9.10/10 and become one of Pennsylvania’s highest-rated attractions of the season!
Opening night: September 25th
Know Before You Go: All-indoor attraction, free parking is off-site with guests directed to the designated lot, food is available, and the separate Raven Room VIP experience includes immediate haunt access, a private themed lounge, escape-room experience, refreshments, photo opportunities, VIP parking, and additional perks for groups of up to six.

Fright Farm – Smithfield, Pennsylvania
Fright Farm in Smithfield delivers a massive haunted experience that can take more than an hour to complete, combining a hayride with several walkthrough, linear attractions and continually changing themes. Large outdoor scenes, detailed indoor environments, original characters, animatronics, special effects, and a huge amount of physical space make this much more than a quick haunted house stop.
2026 attractions include: The Hayride of No Return, The Grounds, Frightmare Mansion, and their more extreme experience, Slaughter Hollow. The sheer amount of entertainment helped Fright Farm earn an overall score of 9.22/10, making it The Scare Factor’s highest-rated Pennsylvania haunt reviewed last season.
Opening night: September 11th
Know Before You Go: Indoor/outdoor areas, food and concessions, midway entertainment, merchandise, General Admission and VIP options, paid parking, and cash or card accepted. Guests may roam while they wait. No-touch attraction.

Crawford School of Terror – Connellsville, Pennsylvania
Crawford School of Terror in Connellsville makes excellent use of a real school building built in 1916, starting guests in classrooms, hallways, a cafeteria, a library, and other recognizable school environments before becoming increasingly unpredictable as they move between three floors.
The attraction doesn’t stay trapped behind school desks for long. During our 2025 visit, the experience shifted from a barn-and-slaughterhouse setting to a blackout section, with actors appearing from unusual hiding places, including overhead. The mix of authentic school surroundings, constantly changing themes, interactive performers, and old-school surprises helped Crawford earn a 9.02/10 from our review team!
Opening night: September 25th
Know Before You Go: Multi-level attraction inside a historic school, food trucks and other concessions have been available, merchandise and photo opportunities are offered, and General Admission and VIP options have traditionally been available. Expect stairs as you move through the different levels. The schoolhouse is said to be truly haunted!

Castle Blood – Monessen, Pennsylvania
Castle Blood in Monessen is one of the most unusual attractions on this list because it operates more like an interactive Halloween adventure than a traditional startle-heavy haunted house. Inside a 100-year-old former funeral home, guests enter the castle and interact with its strange residents while completing tasks, solving puzzles, collecting information, and figuring out exactly what they need to escape!
The emphasis is on theatrical characters, atmosphere, storytelling, and participation. During our 2025 visit, the nostalgic old-school Halloween style, detailed personalities, puzzles, and immersive interactions made the experience feel unlike the high-speed scare attractions surrounding it, earning Castle Blood an overall score of 8.94/10. It also took a whopping 46 minutes to get through!
Opening night: October 2nd
Know Before You Go: Old-school, low-tech theatrical attraction, no-touch experience, Indoor/outdoor attraction, outdoor waiting area, also offers family-friendly matinees with less-intense scares, free parking, there are stairs inside.

Pennhurst Asylum – Spring City, Pennsylvania
Pennhurst Asylum brings haunted entertainment to the grounds of the former Pennhurst State School and Hospital, giving guests the rare opportunity to experience scares inside buildings tied to a real and complicated history. The massive historic property creates an atmosphere nearly impossible to reproduce anywhere else!
For the Halloween season, Pennhurst currently advertises four haunted attractions that take guests through institutional environments, underground passages, and portions of the historic complex. Daytime history tours and paranormal experiences offer very different ways to explore Pennhurst outside the Halloween show. The tunnels of the haunted house are some of the scariest we’ve ever seen!
Opening night: September 25th
Know Before You Go: Four haunted attractions, Friday through Sunday operation during the main season, the actors MAY touch you. Pennhurst is open for off-season haunt events.
Kim’s Krypt Haunted Mill – Spring Grove, Pennsylvania
Kim’s Krypt Haunted Mill in Spring Grove spreads its scares across 62+ acres anchored by a centuries-old grist mill. Guests can venture through the multi-story Haunted Mill, enter the Horror of Menges Mill, face the creatures inside House of Eyes, travel through the wooded Terror Trail, and enter Dark Despair, an attraction built around total darkness and disorientation!
The scream park has also built up a sizable collection of side experiences, including escape games, midway games, food, a gift shop, photo opportunities, and even hearse rides! It’s the kind of destination where completing every haunt and trying the additional attractions can easily fill an entire evening. We visited this attraction in early 2026, and there were so many animatronics and scares inside that we were constantly screaming our way through!
Opening night: September 18th
Know Before You Go: Free parking, food and midway games, escape experiences, hearse and coffin rides, merchandise, no bags, backpacks, fanny packs, or purses are allowed inside the attractions. Most attractions operate rain or shine, but severe weather can close the outdoor Terror Trail.
Field of Screams – Mountville, Pennsylvania
Field of Screams PA in Mountville is one of Pennsylvania’s longest-running scream parks, spreading four major haunted experiences across a family farm. Guests can climb aboard the Haunted Hayride, venture inside the Den of Darkness and Frightmare Asylum, and disappear into the wooded Nocturnal Wasteland haunted trail.
For its 34th season in 2026, Field of Screams is adding Midnight Masquerade inside the Den of Darkness, bringing a new scene to the attraction’s approximately 200-year-old barn. Outside the haunts, the entertainment area keeps the property active with food, games, live music, roaming characters, and other activities throughout the season.
Opening night: September 11th
Know Before You Go: Indoor/outdoor experience, food, midway entertainment, gift shop, and ticket prices vary by date. Walk-up admission is only available when capacity remains. This is a touch attraction. No bags allowed.

Shocktoberfest – Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania
Shocktoberfest in Sinking Spring has been scaring Pennsylvania for more than three decades and has grown into a 27-acre scream park with multiple haunted houses, a hayride, interactive zombie experiences, midway entertainment, live music, food, and bars. The attraction leans heavily into its Zombie World concept, creating an entire facility supposedly built to contain and display the undead.
Current experiences include the Zombie Safari Hayride Tour, the massive 50,000-square-foot Prison of the Dead, Unknown 3.0, Midway Massacre, and Ground Assault zombie laser tag. Guests looking for something especially unusual can also purchase the Zombie Experience and temporarily become part of the cast, complete with costume and makeup, to scare other visitors.
Opening night: September 11th

Lincoln Mill Haunted House – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Lincoln Mill Haunted House in Philadelphia turns a historic Manayunk mill into a story-driven nightmare centered around Viktor Kane and the dark secrets supposedly uncovered beneath the building after flooding from Hurricane Ida. Instead of treating story as background decoration, Lincoln Mill uses dialogue, characters, scenes, and environmental storytelling to make guests feel like they’re moving through another chapter of the mill’s history.
The attraction combines detailed costumes and interactive actors who really bring this show to life! Our team’s 2025 visit during a special event showed just how flexible Lincoln Mill’s storyline can be, and the attraction earned an 8.96/10!
Opening night: September 26th
Know Before You Go: All-indoor attraction that operates rain or shine, outdoor waiting, advance online tickets recommended because availability is limited, nearby paid parking is available, and bags larger than 12x12x1 inches are prohibited. This is a no-touch attraction.
