This is not a ranking or a “5 best” list, and these certainly aren’t the only Colorado haunts worth visiting. Think of this as a starting point for building your haunt list. There are plenty more attractions throughout Colorado waiting to be discovered! This list is in no particular order.
So, where will you scream first?
Terror in the Corn – Erie, Colorado
Terror in the Corn at Anderson Farms in Erie is far more than a simple walk through a cornfield. This roughly mile-long haunted trail drops guests into the ongoing battle for Raven’s Gulch, where the Wells twins and the witch Dumitra clash across detailed outdoor environments packed with interactive characters, elaborate sets, strong sound design, and scares hidden throughout the corn.
The experience begins before guests ever reach the trail, with a themed Old West train station queue complete with actors, story-driven skits, and plenty of atmosphere. Better yet, admission also gives guests access to Anderson Farms and its huge lineup of fall activities, making Terror in the Corn an easy place to turn a haunt visit into an entire evening of Halloween fun.

HellScream Haunted House – Colorado Springs, Colorado
HellScream Haunted House in Colorado Springs sends guests through a multi-story nightmare inside the twisted manor of Dr. Stewart VonHellton. This haunt is especially memorable for its intense, committed actors who aren’t afraid to invade your personal space and keep the pressure on as you move between wildly different environments throughout the building.
Detailed sets, creative makeup, low visibility, lighting effects, and plenty of unexpected scares help keep guests on their toes. For haunt fans looking for a high-energy, actor-driven experience with a lot packed into one building, HellScream belongs on the Colorado radar.

The Frightmare Compound – Westminster, Colorado
Frightmare Compound in Westminster has been scaring Colorado for more than 40 years, and the property itself gives the experience a gritty, old-school atmosphere you don’t get from a typical warehouse haunt. Guests wind through a collection of rustic buildings, outdoor pathways, and weathered environments that make the whole place feel like a forgotten compound you probably shouldn’t be exploring after dark.
Beyond the main haunt, visitors can also check out escape rooms, a Monster Museum filled with props, masks, antiques, and memorabilia from Frightmare’s decades of history, plus a coffin simulator for anyone looking to add even more to their night. With so much packed onto one long-running property, Frightmare Compound is one of those Colorado haunts where the history is almost as interesting as what’s waiting around the next corner. Know Before You Go: Located near Denver, free parking, open nearly every night in October, and they have a custom off-road wheelchair available to help accommodate some guests; powered wheelchairs cannot go through.
The Fear Complex – Colorado Springs
The Fear Complex in Colorado Springs packs four distinctly themed zones of fear into one massive indoor attraction, giving guests plenty of variety without ever leaving the building. Visitors move through The Sanitarium, Haunted Mines, Sinister Manor, and 3D Carnival one after another, encountering everything from underground mining tunnels and claustrophobic environments to twisted manor scenes and colorful 3D chaos.
New for 2026, the experience starts with a virtual queue that lets guests spend their wait exploring the Midway, grabbing snacks, playing games, shopping, or even relaxing in their car until their group receives a text that it’s time to enter. With more than 26,000 square feet of scares and a completely redesigned way to handle the wait, The Fear Complex gives Colorado Springs haunt fans plenty to experience before and during the walkthrough.

Scream Acres at Fritzler Corn Maze – La Salle, Colorado
Scream Acres at Fritzler Farm Park in La Salle combines a haunted corn maze experience with one of Colorado’s larger fall festival destinations, making it easy to turn a haunt trip into an entire evening out. The haunt begins by sending guests into towering corn before leading them through increasingly elaborate environments filled with detailed sets, impressive effects, and a committed cast that delivered everything from quiet stalking to aggressive, in-your-face scares during our 2025 visit.
Scream Acres also incorporates its own ongoing lore, “The Curse of the Blood Moon,” giving fans who enjoy story-driven haunts something extra to dig into. For 2026, Scream Acres opens September 25, while Fritzler Farm Park’s Fall Festival opens September 19 with a giant corn maze, pumpkin patch, games, food, photo ops, a beer garden, and plenty of other seasonal activities to enjoy before darkness falls.
