Final Score: 9.02

This year marks DarkWood Manor’s continuation into its 25th year of haunted performance. The ambiance is thick and ominous, setting the stage before you step inside. The cast plays a huge role in keeping that energy alive, backed by great costuming, inventive effects, and vivid storytelling. The haunt is intentionally designed, and you can tell the architect behind it takes pride in the details. The scares come often and in different forms, and while the attraction weighs more into the atmosphere than chaos, it still knows how to get under your skin. With fair pricing, dedicated staff, and an experience that makes you a part of it from start to finish, DarkWood Manor balances story, scares, and craftsmanship in all the right ways.

The actors at DarkWood Manor were a standout part of the night. Each performer knew their role well, stayed in character, and were able to merge scares with storytelling, which kept it interesting. In DarkWood Manor, some of the characters would engage to keep Mother Grimwood’s tales flowing, while others came at you full force. All the characters were intertwined with the story, and their narration made you feel like a part of the fable. When the book ended, it was another twisted adventure with Dr. Brain and his 3D Mind Maze. The good doctor spun tales of the Moth Man with humorous undertones and captivating flair.
