Summary

Doomsday Haunt offers a unique setting that blends haunted entertainment with the facility’s other attractions, including paintball and Airsoft experiences. The property has also featured a corn maze in the past, adding to its seasonal offerings. Interestingly, the area used for the haunt doubles as part of the Airsoft playing space during the day, giving the location a second life before it transforms into a nighttime destination for haunt fans.

Guest Experience9.22

Doomsday Haunt was easy to find, with plenty of lights visible from the street to help guide us to the attraction. Parking is free and available on-site, with attendants directing guests to available spaces. The facility offers several attractions and activities, including paintball, while the haunt itself features a trail with several indoor scenes that are larger than those typically found at many haunted trails. The first main area guests enter includes a large fire pit, the ticket booth, and several photo opportunities. From there, a dirt road leads toward the haunt, with audio elements and posters featuring the attraction’s… Read More…

Immersion8.25

Doomsday Haunt establishes a distinct retro-futuristic style throughout its entrance areas and midway, creating a cohesive look before guests even begin the trail. Once inside, however, the scenery takes a more varied approach, moving between apocalyptic environments, hillbilly-themed scenes, and blacklight areas that sometimes felt a little haphazard in their overall progression. We traveled several minutes into the haunt before encountering any actors, giving us time to appreciate the scenery and details of the sets, though a few additional character appearances along the way could help bring these early sections to life. One notable exception was the town area, a… Read More…

Special Effects8.07

The special effects at Doomsday Haunt had some strong moments, though consistency faltered in a few areas. Lighting worked well in many of the individual scenes, particularly throughout the town, where the storefronts were nicely illuminated and helped bring the detailed sets to life. Along the trail, lighting varied quite a bit, with some areas very dark and others featuring brighter lights that could be a little overwhelming, making transitions between scenes occasionally tricky to navigate. More than one actor had to point us in the right direction after a scare, suggesting that better-balanced pathway lighting could improve both the… Read More…

Characters8.31

The characters at Doomsday Haunt offered a range of performances, with some bringing particularly memorable personalities or appearances to their roles, while others took a more straightforward approach to their scares. The preacher in the church scene was particularly engaging, as were the clowns in the theater, both of whom brought extra character to their environments. Other performers leaned more heavily on standard scare tactics, including the occasional “get out” or “move faster,” which felt less immersive than more character-driven interactions. A girl appearing in a store window delivered a memorable scare, while the four-legged stilt creature also caught our… Read More…

Scare Factor8.21

Doomsday Haunt uses a few effective environmental elements to set guests on edge, including a slanted hallway near the beginning that threw us off balance and left us wondering what might come next. A house with especially creaky floors also added a nice layer of atmosphere, making each step feel a little more unsettling. Many of the scares relied on actors charging at us from dark hiding spots, with varying degrees of success. The girl hiding in the cemetery was a particular standout, catching us genuinely off guard, while some other performers relied more on simply leering at us as… Read More…

Value7.49

With a 23-minute walkthrough and a general admission ticket price of $29.99, Doomsday Haunt delivers an MPD (minutes per dollar) ratio of 0.77. Beyond the haunt itself, guests can enjoy several extras around the property, including two fire pits where they can warm up on a chilly autumn night, roaming queue actors who interact with visitors, and photo opportunities featuring the many old vehicles scattered throughout the grounds. The main midway also offers reasonably priced food and merchandise vendors, providing even more ways to enjoy the evening. With a variety of activities and amenities to explore before and after the… Read More…
