Over the past summer, we hosted our second annual nation-wide poll, where haunted house-goers could vote for their favorite “Must-See” haunted attractions in Iowa. We’ve tallied the results and posted them here so you can find the biggest, best and scariest haunted houses in the State! #5: The Heart of Darkness
Waterloo, IA
In 2016, this attraction offered 10 separately-themed haunted areas! We can’t wait to see what they will offer in 2017!
#4: Thrashers House of Terror
Mount Pleasant, IA
Thrashers House of Terror is an all-volunteer fundraising event that benefits the Midwest Old Threshers Organization. The haunt first began back in 2007.
#3: Gateway of Chaos
Malvern, IA
Gateway of Chaos is a charity haunted attraction where 100% of the proceeds are donated each season. They give to the Malvern Area Betterment Association and other non-profit organizations.
#2: Sinister Sidney
Sidney, IA
Sinister Sidney consists of about a 45 minute journey through a forest and a farm. Each year, they accept canned food donations that are, in turn, given to the West Central Services Food Pantry. In addition, the attraction takes place on the old Haunted Canon property (circa 1890).
