Over the past summer, we hosted our second annual nation-wide poll, where haunted house-goers could vote for their favorite “Must-See” haunted attractions in Ohio. We’ve tallied the results and posted them here so you can find the biggest, best and scariest haunted houses in the State! #10: Terror in the Trees Haunted Attraction
Lucasville, OH
Terror in the Trees is a hidden gem in the woods of South-Central Ohio. This outdoor trail has lots of creative scenes and a home-grown atmosphere that keeps the true spirit of Halloween alive each season.
#9: Haunted Town Hall
Lafayette, OH
Haunted Town Hall is one of the few 2-story indoor haunts in Ohio. Their story revolves around “Mayor Joseph,” the town’s local politician who ruled as judge, jury and executioner with an often-bloody fist. Although the mayor experienced an untimely death, his absence leaves more questions than answers. With his presence still felt within the Town Hall to this day, do you dare discover his dark and sinister secrets for yourself?
#8: ScareATorium
Columbus, OH
The ScareATorium offers two indoor haunts at their single location: The Northland Asylum and RIP’s 3D Funhouse. In addition, they have 4 separate escape rooms available for those looking to hone their strategic thinking skills.
#7: Haunted Hoorah
Ashley, OH
“The Haunted Hoorah is a unique scare experience, as it attacks your senses and fears with every twist and turn.” The fright begins on a military bus that transports recruits to the first haunted destination. If they are strong enough to survive, then survivors will be transported to a second destination.
#6: Land of Illusion
Middletown, OH
Land of Illusion is a haunted scream park that consists of 5 full-size haunted attractions, a zombie paintball ride and other attractions including a 40-foot demon drop! On many nights of the season, LOI will have special entertainment including several well-known bands in concert this season! Opening night for Land of Illusion for the 2017 season is September 1st!
#5: Lewisburg Haunted Cave
Lewisburg, OH
The Lewisburg Haunted Cave actually takes place in a real cave, deep under the ground! The cave typically offers an hour-long experience, but it can sometimes be longer depending on your maze skills. Inside the cave, you will see many unexplainable creatures, you will walk over water, and you may even see real bats (among other things)!
#4: The Dent Schoolhouse
Cincinnati, OH
“The Dent Schoolhouse takes place in a schoolhouse that was built back in 1896 and contains a gruesome legend. The Janitor of the school, Charlie McFree is said to have killed a large number of the student body over a period of 10-20 years. Hiding their bodies within the basement, the smell became too much and alerted the town of Dent.” Are you brave enough to venture through the School and to the basement where many bodies can still be seen today?
#3: Factory of Terror
Canton, OH
The Factory of Terror is a 3-time Guinness World Record holder for having the largest indoor haunted house! FOT is located in an abandoned 150,000 square foot aluminum foundry. They feature 5 full-length haunted attractions that total over a mile in length.
#2: Brimstone Haunted Hayride
Wilmington, OH
“Brimstone Haunted Hayride was founded on the heels of Springboro Haunted Hayride’s closing. The producers of the Ohio Renaissance Festival and Celtic Fest Ohio along with the core management team from the old Springboro Haunted Hayride came together to keep a longstanding, Fall tradition alive. Brimstone Haunted Hayride is located on the Renaissance Park grounds in Warren County, Ohio.” The attractions at Springboro Haunted Hayride were rated must-see attractions multiple times and their fans are eager with excitement to see what Brimstone has in store for them!

Wells Township is said to be the “most unique, most intense, most insane, high energy, high octane, live action haunted attraction you have ever seen!” This old-school-style attraction offers around 10,000 square feet of non-stop scares in their 170-year-old building.
