About This Attraction:
Summary:
Since 1985, House of Anguish at the Culbertson Mansion has been terrifying the denizens of Greater Louisville. The haunted house takes place in the Carriage House of the aforementioned Mansion, a Second Empire-style home and state historic site. Every ticket purchased goes towards the ongoing restoration of its interior.
House of Anguish is one of the only haunted houses in the region that changes its theme completely every year. Each theme explores the story of an ill-fated resident of the building who became corrupted by a malevolent presence tied to the land itself, an entity known as Anguish.
Over the years, the Mansion staff and volunteers have reported unusual occurrences in the old Carriage House: electrical problems, missing items, strange sounds after hours and mysterious figures moving from room to room. It’s not unusual for the motion-activated security alarm system to get set off by something moving around late at night. A few staff members and past volunteers have even refused to work in the building because of personal experiences with the unexplained. You may end up being scared by more than the actors!
