Getting to Hell’s Bar Dam Haunt was straightforward, with accurate map directions and a building that was easy to spot as we approached. Parking is free, although navigating the parking area was a little confusing during our visit. There are two parking lots, but neither had signage identifying them as haunt parking or directing guests toward the entrance. We also didn’t notice any signs displaying the haunt’s name, so some additional signage could make arrival a little easier. Once we arrived, however, the staff was friendly and informative, which made the experience feel more welcoming.
General admission tickets to Hell’s Bar Dam Haunt are $25 and can be purchased either online or at the ticket booth. For those looking to spend less time in line, a Fast Pass is $35 when purchased online or $40 at the ticket booth, so purchasing in advance saves you $5. The haunt also offers a Paranormal Lantern Tour/Fast Pass combo for $75. In addition to the Fast Pass, this package includes a 25–30 minute small-group tour of additional areas of the dam, along with some of the local lore surrounding the property. Guests are provided with small lanterns and EMF detectors to use during the tour, offering a different way to explore the historic and purportedly haunted setting.
The queue lines were clearly marked and situated in a large, covered area, providing plenty of space for guests waiting to enter. Two vendors were set up nearby, offering beverages and Mexican food items, while clean, well-maintained restrooms were conveniently located close to the queue. The ticket booth was easy to find, although having a visible price list would have been a helpful addition. Guests can purchase tickets for the haunted attraction or book a guided lantern tour of the dam, offering another way to enjoy the property.
Adjacent to the queue area is an extensive gift shop featuring a variety of merchandise related to both the haunt and the dam, along with a bar offering several alcoholic beverages. The property is also home to the Dam Whiskey Company distillery, and its products are available for purchase in the gift shop. There were a few queues of actors entertaining guests during our visit, and although their numbers were limited, they were lively and interactive. Music played outside as well, though the playlist seemed relatively short and repetitive, with little connection to the haunt’s theme or the Halloween atmosphere. Overall, Hell’s Bar Dam offers a variety of amenities and activities to enjoy before entering the haunt, with a few opportunities to make the arrival and queue experience even more engaging.
