Once inside the attractions, you’ll encounter a large number of actors. Within Field of Screams, each container has at least one actor, while the corn has characters popping in and out of the corn. Walking through, we did notice that there were a few areas that were lacking actors. Inside The Slaughterhouse, there were actors around almost every corner. Most of the rooms had multiple actors. In the medical room, for example, we counted at least six actors. The actors in both attractions did an outstanding job working with each other to maximize the scares. Actors in Field of Screams had developed characters. Each one had a unique look and a complete costume. When a character wore a mask, we noticed makeup around the eyes. The actors in The Slaughterhouse are more intense; they know how to work together to get the most out of the scares.
Most characters we encountered in both attractions had fun interactions with us. We had some delightfully demented conversations with the actors. From actors telling us how they were going to cook us in the slaughterhouse to a disturbing doll that stared us down. Each actor used their own scare tactics for the best scare.
Each actor had unique costumes, masks, and makeup. Throughout both attractions, we did not see the same mask or makeup twice. We did have one actor in Field of Screams remove their mask in front of us, which did break the scene a little for us in the clown area.
Costuming throughout both attractions was complete with the appropriate amount of wear and tear. The use of the props, especially the cattle prod-looking sticks, was well-used for distractions so another actor could go for the scare. The level of detail in the makeup was outstanding through both attractions. From disturbing clown makeup to mental patients, each actor had unique face and hand makeup that blended into the clothing as well. The masks are also incredibly unique, with some truly creepy pig masks and a sunflower Demogorgon. We also noticed makeup on all of the masked characters as well.
