Cast Review:
Milltown Haunt had a perfect number of actors, creating the sense that, around every corner, we would encounter someone ready to scare us. Actors were strategically placed throughout the attraction, and even the midway and queue were bustling with actors that kept the energy exciting.
The actors were fully immersed in their roles, adapting to interactions without ever breaking character, enthusiastic, and making each scare feel genuine. Even less dramatic roles were portrayed with intensity and care, like the “Gatekeeper,” who stayed in character while going over the rules, making a routine moment exciting. Each actor contributed uniquely to the experience, from creepy silent stalkers to energetic and interactive conversations.
One standout moment came in the junkyard scene, where an actor seemed to be everywhere at once, impressing us with their fluency and speed while interacting with guests. Verbal and physical interactions were plentiful and well executed, enhancing the realism and immersion. The cast offered a wide variety of characters and scare tactics, from jump scares to eerie dialogue, making for a diverse experience that kept us on edge.

Costuming Review:
The costumes were incredibly detailed, high quality, and fitting for each character, adding to the immersive experience. We were particularly impressed with the clown and the “long-fingered” actor in the queue who both had fantastic, well-crafted costumes.
The clown’s ability to remove her hat and show her gooey brain was something we had never seen before. Another queue standout was the “grandma” character with a creative sewing thread sash, showing that even small details were thoughtfully executed.
Costumes not only matched the characters but also the scenes perfectly. The teddy bear in the bedroom scene was particularly well-placed, blending so seamlessly that it was easy to miss. Throughout the haunt, we felt costumes were complete, down to every detail. Milltown Haunt provided top-notch costumes consistent with all other aspects of their experience offered.

Customer Service Review:
Traveling from Baltimore to Milltown Haunt was easy; our GPS led us directly to the attraction, and upon arrival, the bright, well-lit parking lot made finding a spot easy.
Staff members in the lot guided us on where to park and enter the attraction. As we walked in, the ticket booth was clearly marked and conveniently located, with the entrance leading directly to the midway. We appreciated the opportunity to visit the photo op room and merchandise area before fully entering the midway, but we could also revisit these areas at any time.
The ticket staff provided explanations of the attraction queue and the midway layout, ensuring we knew exactly where to go. The staff were exemplary. They treated every guest with respect and appeared eager to assist. Most of our questions were answered even before we asked, showcasing their knowledge and commitment to customer service. All staff members wore identifiable Milltown Haunt shirts, making them easy to spot.
We found all relevant information, ticket prices, hours, and location, on their website, which made planning our visit a breeze. The haunt’s policies, including ADA accessibility and touching rules, were clearly communicated online.

Immersion Review:
The atmosphere prior to going inside the attraction created anticipation and a thrilling sense of nervous excitement as soon as we arrived. Queue actors created a spooky vibe, igniting our eagerness to be scared. Inside the attraction, we were completely immersed, free from interruptions and conga lines. Every transition was thoughtfully designed to prepare us for the next scene.
There didn’t appear to be a plain black wall anywhere inside. The attraction was decorated from floor to ceiling, bringing you into the story they were telling. Floor textures changed, and details in scenes showed the time and craftsmanship put into each room and transition.
Upon exiting the attraction, we were welcomed back into the lively midway, where the atmosphere continued to entice us with food trucks, corn hole, axe throwing (for an extra cost), a truck mini bar, and plenty of seating around warm fire pits (perfect for a chilly October night).
The exit path to the parking lot led us back through the merchandise area, providing a second opportunity to purchase items on our way out. We enjoy this setup, as we feel there is nothing more annoying than being forced to carry your merch through the haunt. We love the convenience of buying it on our way back to the car.

Special FX Review:
From the moment you step inside the attraction you are transported through each meticulously crafted scene, from the eerily authentic funeral chapel complete with a haunting piano melody echoing the room, to the “abandoned” carnival grounds, every detail is executed with masterful precision.
The props and animatronics, especially the terrifyingly realistic saw that threatens as you pass, and the “grandma” near the gatekeeper, are strategically placed to elevate tension at every turn. Strategic lighting flickers, like candlelight in the goat room, create an unsettling feeling, while a clever laser swamp offers an immersive illusion that disorients your reality.
The scents throughout the air are carefully curated to match each haunting scene, making it feel as though you’re walking through the nightmare itself, for real. It’s clear that details are a priority.

Scare Factor Review:
Milltown Haunt keeps your heart racing from start to finish. The scares come at you all throughout the attraction. Just when you think you’ve braced yourself for the next jump, an unexpected fright makes your heart skip a beat.
Sam’s familiar phrase of, “That was a good one, you got me there!” was said many times. Throughout the attraction, anticipation for the next scare continues to build. With every corner you turn, you brace yourself for what’s next, but the actors blend into their surroundings so seamlessly that it’s impossible to anticipate the next scare.
The junkyard scene stands out, as the actors did an outstanding job utilizing their space to create a chaotic and immersive environment. The finale wraps up the attraction perfectly, leaving many visitors sprinting into the midway (which makes for fun people-watching if you hang out in the midway).

E&V Review:
Milltown Haunt delivers exceptional entertainment that more than justifies the ticket price. The experience inside the attraction is impressively lengthy (approx. 30 mins), maximizing every inch of space. At the general admission price of $30, that brings them right to the average of 1 minute of entertainment received per dollar spent!
Outside the main haunt, the midway features fire pits, food trucks, and corn hole. The midway and queue line is kept exciting by the actors interacting with, and scaring guests.
We were impressed by Milltown’s attraction and would love to see them expand and open additional attractions in the future, if possible! This may have been our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last!
