On the physical site, parking was relatively easy. There was plenty of parking, though we do wish there were signs directing folks to the haunt entrance from their extended parking areas. We had a group member with a minor foot injury and we didn’t realize there were spots much closer to the entrance than our initial one until we drove around a bit without signs directing us.
Staff was highly professional and friendly, but the maintenance of the overall site could use improvement. When we arrived at 7:45 PM, before the official opening of the trail, trash cans were overflowing with what we assume was trash from the daytime event. Picnic tables were littered with empty water bottles, and the port-a-potties were quite full.
Though the main area with food and vendors was quite well lit, we did find the rest of the grounds rather dark. Queues were marked with lighting, but it was unclear which haunt was which in many cases. We also had to ask where we could find one trail, since we weren’t sure if the lights we saw in the distance were for the queue or were from a nearby parking lot. Some signs pointing folks around and a little extra lighting in the trail hub would make navigating the grounds much easier and less frustrating.
This didn’t make or break our experience, but we did find that the glowstick bracelets used to mark us as ticket-holders were a bit small. One member of our team had to loop his glow bracelet on the front of his camera bag, and we saw several men using the back of their baseball caps as a place to loop their bracelet.
