Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

The Haunted Mine opens its mine shaft for another year of underground scares! This year, we noticed some minor changes to Hick’s House and The Graveyard. However, inside the mine, there were major changes that we absolutely loved this season! What makes this attraction so unique is that, unlike most haunted attractions, you must ride a mine cart to reach the entrance! While you don’t spend the entire experience underground, roughly half of the haunt takes place inside the mine, making for an experience that’s unlike anything else. So, are you ready to grab your hard hats, hop aboard the… Read More…

Guest Experience8.94

This attraction does a pretty good job of providing signs to direct guests where to park. Once you arrive at the parking lot, you can find a spot and park on your own. We didn’t see any parking attendants the night we visited. After parking, you’ll walk down a path toward the ticket booth, with a small pavilion located right next to it. When you’re ready to get in line, you’ll see signs directing guests to either General Admission or VIP. While you wait, a few queue actors roam the midway area, and lines keep guests entertained and on their… Read More…

Immersion7.96

Before entering the attraction, you could see lights illuminating the facade of the house, immediately helping to set up the atmosphere. We genuinely enjoyed how interactive the actors were outside the house, as they did a great job of getting us prepared for what was to come! As we made our way through the attraction, the themes were easy to follow, and it was clear what each scene was trying to accomplish. We really enjoyed the overall concept behind the different themes throughout the haunt. The scenes flowed together nicely, creating a cohesive experience that didn’t feel like it was… Read More…

Special Effects8.34

We really enjoyed the special effects throughout this attraction. Compared to last year, they added a few more effects, which made the experience stand out even more. One thing we noticed was how well the sound design was incorporated throughout the attraction. Our favorite sound effects were in the mine, where we could hear everything from hammers and picks clanking together to the sound of what seemed like an entire section collapsing. These sounds added a lot to the atmosphere and made the mine feel much more realistic. The combination of fog machines and laser lights throughout the mine also… Read More…

Characters8.24

The Haunted Mine had some fantastic actors this year, and we absolutely loved everyone’s performances. There seemed to be a great number of actors in each section, which made the entire experience much more engaging. Last year, the graveyard felt a little light on actors, but this year there were noticeably more, and they did a great job keeping us on our toes. Inside Hick’s House, there was a great variety of actors, each with their own unique roles and personalities. We really appreciated that the dialogue didn’t feel repetitive and that most of the actors looked different from one… Read More…

Scare Factor8.1

The Haunted Mine offered a great variety of scares, and we absolutely loved how they incorporated different setups to create some awesome and effective moments that startled the entire group. One thing we really appreciated was that many of the scares were designed to get everyone rather than focusing on just one person. This made the experience feel more immersive and kept the whole group engaged throughout the attraction. Hick’s House and the Graveyard featured plenty of classic haunted house scares that worked well. We particularly enjoyed the girl hiding behind the shower curtain, along with the classic jump scares… Read More…

Value9.18

Tickets for The Haunted Mine cost $25 per person on Fridays and Saturdays, while Sunday admission is $20 per person. Fast Pass tickets are available for $40 per person every night and the attraction is open. We spent a total of 34 minutes inside the attraction, giving it an MPD (minutes per dollar) of 1.36 based on the standard Friday and Saturday ticket price of $25. This is above average, and we appreciate that The Haunted Mine kept its prices the same this year. Even better, this is a nonprofit attraction that puts its money back into the mine to… Read More…
