It’s no secret, given our team name, that we love Baltimore! Uncovering Poe was decided based on our desire to incorporate Baltimore’s eerie past into our name. The Nevermore Haunt is nestled in the historic Isaac Benesch and Sons department store and is a thrilling journey through Baltimore’s captivating past that left us longing for more.

As proud Baltimoreans, we were thrilled to finally experience this haunt, and we can’t help but wonder why we waited so long! From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in decades of Baltimore history, presented in a way that you won’t find anywhere else. The creativity behind this haunt is truly impressive, seamlessly blending entertainment with the city’s rich legacy.

As we waited to enter the attraction, we enjoyed the side entertainment and food stands, making our experience even more enjoyable. The Nevermore Haunt is a fantastic gem to our beloved city, and we can’t wait to return!

At The Nevermore Haunt, the cast truly brings the experience to life, filling the attraction with an impressive assortment of actors who keep the scares and entertainment flowing consistently. The actors are perfectly spaced throughout the haunt, ensuring there are no breaks in the action, and their performances are both convincing and engaging.

One standout moment was the man locked in a cell, pleading for help with such enthusiasm that we genuinely felt his desperation. All the actors fully embraced their roles, demonstrating a remarkable commitment that enhanced our journey through Baltimore’s history.

Dialogue was used creatively, with each character contributing to the narrative as our guides through various scenes. We were impressed by how original and well-crafted the dialogue was, avoiding the clichés often found in haunted attractions.

The interactive elements of the experience elevated the immersion, particularly with the fortune teller who involved us in a unique decision-making moment, skillfully preventing us from running into other groups.

The character variety was impressive, with each actor portraying characters set in Baltimore’s history. This not only added depth to the experience but also tied everything together beautifully. The cast at The Nevermore Haunt played a crucial role in crafting the memorable and engaging experience that left us eager for our next visit.

The costumes were impressive, giving a unique and detailed component that complimented the overall experience. Every costume was thoughtfully designed to fit the characters and their respective scenes perfectly.

The attention to detail in the distressing and aging of the costumes helped create an authentic character, allowing for a seamless correlation to the storyline. The creative use of original designs ensured that we encountered characters that felt fresh and unique, deviating from typical haunt concepts.

While queue actors had simple costumes, they maintained a fun and engaging atmosphere. The standout character, the “baby” with the teddy bear, had a fantastic costume that left a lasting impression, despite their clean shoes contrasting with the raggedy onesie. This character’s performance effectively drew attention away from any minor inconsistencies in the costume.

The Nevermore Haunt costumes were well executed, enhancing the authenticity and immersive experience while making each character an crucial part of the story.

The staff is a standout feature, giving professionalism and enthusiasm, often anticipating your needs before you even ask. Their helpfulness extends beyond simple directions, creating an inviting atmosphere for customers.

The side shows and interactive queue actors build anticipation, merging the thrill of fear with a party-like atmosphere. Once inside, the storyline shines with creativity and relevance, deeply rooted in the history of Baltimore and the very building that houses the haunt.

Guests are briefed on the rules and the narrative, which is executed beautifully throughout the experience. The haunt excels at maintaining immersion, with a strategic flow that prevents any congregation of groups and keeps a steady pace.

Actors skillfully manage the line flow, while the transitions work to create seamless movement from scene to scene. Upon exiting, the experience continues, leading guests back to the midway to continue their stay. The Nevermore Haunt not only captivates your senses inside, but also encourages you to linger and enjoy the atmosphere outside.

The special effects are nothing short of exceptional, utilizing a range of sensory elements that elevate the overall experience. Immersive audio enhances the atmosphere. For instance, the stormy ambiance surrounding the dock scene draws haunt goers into the setting, intensifying the thrills without becoming distracting. Each sound is crafted with care.

Scene design is another standout feature. The attention to detail is evident. Each area is distinctive and purposeful, ensuring that guests immediately understand the theme without confusion.

The creativity shines through original elements. The boat scene and innovative strobe lighting effects creates a unique and immersive experience that will not be found in typical haunted attractions. Lighting plays a pivotal role, strategically placed to guide through Baltimore’s decades. The special effects at The Nevermore Haunt demonstrate the time and effort invested in crafting an attraction that is both immersive and memorable.

The Nevermore Haunt offers a balanced fright experience. While the haunt is undoubtedly scary, it also delivers a rich journey through Baltimore’s historical periods, blending fear with intrigue.

The team expertly delivered various types of scares, keeping us on edge throughout the attraction. The scares were well-placed and consistent. Whether at the front, middle, or back of the line, every member had their share of scares.

The timing was spot-on, keeping the scares unpredictable, with well-trained actors and flawless props, with an environment where we were never quite sure when the next scare was coming.

The variety of scares was impressive. They came from all directions ensuring there was never a safe spot. The intensity of the scares also ranged from subtle, eerie stares, to high energy surprises.

Although the ending didn’t dramatically outshine the rest of the haunt in terms of fear, it was certainly memorable, featuring animatronics that stood out as a unique and creative finale. The Nevermore Haunt delivers a solid mix of historical immersion and effective scares, leaving guests entertained throughout the entire attraction.

The Nevermore Haunt provided excellent value for the ticket price. With the walkthrough lasting around 25 minutes, the haunt felt long enough to deliver a full and satisfying adventure through their creative and spooky scenes. The ticket prices vary depending on the color coordination to the date you visit and range from $24 to $34 for general admission. Fast-Pass and VIP are available as well.

The attraction was well-paced, utilizing their space efficiently to ensure a memorable journey from start to finish. Beyond the main attraction, additional entertainment in the midway added more to the experience.

The inclusion of engaging side shows, queue actors, and local food businesses gave us plenty to enjoy while waiting. We were particularly entertained by a creepy baby character who interacted with guests, creating an eerie and fun atmosphere.

For the price of admission, the overall experience was well worth it. The haunt combined its thrilling scares with unique entertainment elements, making sure we felt like we got our money’s worth without needing to purchase any additional upgrades.
