We’ve created a creepy list of Halloween haunted house attractions that we’ve reviewed, visited ourselves, filmed, or are popular amongst many haunt visitors! Remember, this is not a “best of” list – this is a list of haunts we feel that you need to add to your visit list this season for various reasons. Now… let’s get to this list of spooky shenanigans!
#10. Hanna Haunted Acres – Indianapolis, Indiana

Hanna Haunted Acres returns for the 2025 season as “an all-new, reimagined, scarier-than-ever event featuring multiple terrifying haunted attractions, a midway, 2 bars, 3 VIP exclusive bars, photo-ops, delicious food & drink options, FREE parking, & a whole lot more!” They will be opening in September.
#9. Hysterium Haunted Asylum – Fort Wayne, Indiana

Step into the madness at Hysterium Haunted Asylum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where the patients are more demented than ever, and the atmosphere is just as unhinged! Anything goes in this insane asylum! Our visits are always an absolute blast inside this high-energy, actor-driven haunt filled with relentless characters and a few larger-than-life scares that really hit their mark. Get ready to experience this true insanity! You can start making appointments to see the doctor on September 19th, 2025!
#8. House of Anguish at the Culbertson Mansion – New Albany, Indiana

House of Anguish at the Culbertson Mansion is an old-school, high-energy haunted house celebrating over 40 years of scares! It is “the only haunted house in the Louisville Metro area that changes its theme every year! We can confirm that no two visits are the same! This is a charity event where all proceeds benefit the ongoing restoration of the beautiful Culbertson Mansion.
#7. Unreal Nightmares – Jasonville, Indiana

Unreal Nightmares is precisely that: an unreal experience that you won’t expect when you visit for the first time! This haunted house/escape room hybrid is not for the faint of heart. Work with your group to solve riddles and find clues to make your way through this attraction. Your mission? Rescue the agents captured in those walls. If you fail, you might find yourself in the belly of the beast!
#6. Necropolis Underground Haunted Attraction – Indianapolis, Indiana

Necropolis Underground Haunted Attraction is one of the longest haunts in Indiana, with four differently themed attractions! When you visit Necropolis, be sure to plan to spend a whole night there as they also have: escape games, axe throwing, tarot readers, games, mini golf, photo ops, and more! The City of the Dead opens September 27th, 2025!
#5. Malice Manor – Clarksville, Indiana

Malice Manor has quickly gained traction as a top haunted attraction in Indiana! Malice is a touch haunt that will get into your personal space and make you its next meal. They will open very early, beginning on September 5th, for the 2025 season, and we can’t wait to see what Lord Rancor is up to next…
#4. The Asylum – Evansville, Indiana

This haunt is not playing around! The Asylum came in strong in 2024, and they are coming back crazier and more terrifying than ever! “The doors are open, and the Goatman smiles upon you. Here, in their blessed asylum, you will find the path to eternal bliss. They welcome the weary, the gentle souls with trembling hands, the dreamers who see beyond the veil. Let them take your pain, your doubt, your will so that you may serve His darkness forever. There is always room for more!”
#3. Haunted Hills Haunted Attractions – Merrillville, Indiana

Haunted Hills Haunted Attractions is a high-impact attraction that you don’t want to miss! With multiple haunted houses, a midway filled with games, tarot reading, scary creatures, vendors, and more, this is a one-stop shop for fright and fun! Opening night for 2025 is September 26th.
#2. The Thirteenth Hour – Indianapolis, Indiana

The Thirteenth Hour is a premier haunted attraction with multiple attractions at one location. For 2025, guests can experience: Cartocker Expeditions Version 3.0, Widows Revenge Cemetery, The Dead Rise, Cathedral of Souls (with new upgrades), Sharpe Orphanage (double the size from 2024), and an all-new haunt, Rift/13. Time travel begins September 20th.
#1. Nightmare on Edgewood – Indianapolis, Indiana

Going into their 48th season, Nightmare on Edgewood is Indiana’s most extreme haunted house. The nightmare will be returning with three haunted houses: Unhinged, The Factory, and Conley Farm. This will be the final season for Edgewood under its current ownership, as the haunt is up for sale. So get your a$$ out there and support this haunt in its final season in its current form! This is a full touch haunt but they also sell chicken vests for those who do not prefer to be touched. Opening night is September 20th, 2025.
