Looking for haunted attractions to add to your Michigan Halloween plans? We’ve put together 10 Must-See Haunted Attractions in Michigan for 2026 to help you discover some places we think haunt fans should have on their radar this season.
Our Must-See selections may include attractions we’ve reviewed, visited, or filmed, along with other haunts that stand out for what they offer, their popularity among haunt fans, or other reasons we think they’re worth checking out.
This is not a ranking or a “10 best” list, and these certainly aren’t the only haunts in Michigan worth visiting. Think of this as a starting point for building your haunt list. There are plenty more attractions throughout Michigan waiting to be discovered! This list is in no particular order.
So, where will you scream first?
Erebus Haunted Attraction – Pontiac, MI
Erebus Haunted Attraction in downtown Pontiac is a four-story monster that has earned its place in Michigan haunt history. Once recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s longest walk-through haunted attraction, Erebus sends guests through more than half a mile of elaborate rooms, towering creatures, massive animatronics, and effects designed to do considerably more than simply jump out and yell at you.
One of the things that makes Erebus so memorable is how physical the environment itself can feel. Floors move, creatures attack, oversized effects surround guests, and some of the attraction’s signature scares are designed to make it feel like the building is actively trying to capture or even eat you! After decades in operation, Erebus remains one of the most recognizable destination haunts in the Midwest! This is one of the only haunts in America to bury you alive!
Opening night: September 18th
Know Before You Go: All-indoor attraction, gift shop, high-tech effects, indoor/outdoor waiting areas, Speed Pass available, and some effects may make physical contact with guests. Erebus is located in downtown Pontiac, so allow extra time for parking and navigating the area on busy nights. To date, 10,355 victims have tried and failed before you! This haunt has stairs.

Nightmare Realm – Mattawan, Michigan
Nightmare Realm in Mattawan has built its entire attraction around an evolving story, making each Halloween season feel like the next episode of a horror series. The town of Cypress Hollow and the story of Trista have continued to change from year to year, with recurring characters, detailed environments, interactive scenes, and new chapters that reward guests who have been following along.
For 2026, the story continues with Spiraling, the next chapter in Trista’s tale. Guests can expect to return to Cypress Hollow as the consequences of previous seasons continue unfolding around them. During our 2025 visit, Nightmare Realm impressed our team with its characters, storytelling, creative environments, and ability to blend indoor and outdoor scenes into one cohesive experience, earning it the highest Michigan score from The Scare Factor that season.
Opening night: October 3rd
Know Before You Go: Free parking, indoor/outdoor attraction, midway with food, games, and photo opportunities, gift shop, and online ticketing. Special 2026 events include a family-friendly zombie haunt game (The Hollowed), sensory-friendly nights, and Project Jingle Hell in November. This attraction is fully ADA-compliant and wheelchair-accessible.

Niles Scream Park – Niles, Michigan
Niles Scream Park is one of Michigan’s biggest Halloween destinations, spreading multiple haunted attractions across more than 40 acres in southwest Michigan. The park is known for rebuilding and changing its experiences every year, meaning even longtime visitors aren’t simply walking through the exact same show each season.
Guests can spend hours exploring the haunted house with multiple routes, through wooded attractions, mazes, an intense attraction, games, midway entertainment, food, and roaming characters. Niles is also a nonprofit organization that has donated substantial proceeds to local organizations and charities, so screaming your way through the park supports the surrounding community, too.
Opening night: September 11th
Know Before You Go: Large multi-attraction scream park, free parking, food/concessions, games, midway entertainment, gift shop. Adults Only 18+ Night on October 30th. Wheelchairs welcome; must be accompanied by staff to assist with getting through.
Azra Chamber of Horrors Haunted House – Madison Heights, Michigan
Azra Chamber of Horrors Haunted House in Madison Heights sends guests through the collection of an ancient dragon that has gathered some of the universe’s darkest fears into one nightmarish realm. Its multilevel layout shifts through radically different phobias and environments, creating a fast-paced experience where the next room may have very little in common with the one you just escaped from.
During our 2025 visit, Azra stood out for energetic actors, detailed full-body costuming, dark and disorienting environments, 3D effects, animatronics, and monsters hiding in places that looked suspiciously like props until it was too late. Guests exit directly into an entertainment area, where several additional side attractions make it easy to extend the night.

Terrorfied Forest – Pinckney, Michigan
Terrorfied Forest in Pinckney takes guests deep into a massive wooded property where the natural darkness does much of the atmosphere-building before the monsters ever arrive. The attraction relocated to the Hell Survivors Paintball property in recent years, giving the team considerably more space to expand its outdoor nightmare.
During our 2025 visit, the forest stretched across roughly a mile and a half of trails packed with creatures, built environments, darkness, and scares hidden throughout the woods. The experience is surrounded by additional entertainment, including zombie paintball, games, concessions, merchandise, and a short escape room, making Terrorfied Forest much more than a simple walk through the trees. They also received The Scare Factor’s Scariest Haunt in Michigan 2025 award!
Opening night: October 2nd
Know Before You Go: Outdoor wooded attraction, dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes, concessions and merch available, covered seating, zombie paintball, carnival games and a 5-minute escape room available separately.

Awaken Haunted Attraction – Leslie, Michigan
Awaken Haunted Attraction in Leslie has built a reputation around detailed indoor environments, dark passageways, strong jump scares, and a show that is regularly changed and reworked to give returning guests something different to experience. Located between Lansing and Jackson, it has become a popular stop for Michigan haunt fans willing to venture outside the larger Detroit-area destinations.
Awaken has also offered multiple attractions and additional entertainment beyond the main walkthrough over the years, including mini escape experiences, concessions, special events, and occasional celebrity appearances.
Opening night: September 25th
Know Before You Go: Indoor/outdoor attraction, indoor waiting, free parking, food/concessions, merchandise, no-touch experience. Busy Saturday waits can become lengthy, so Fast Pass/VIP options are worth considering on peak nights. Not recommended for children under the age of 13, if you bring them anyway, they must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair accessible with some detours.
Hush Haunted Attraction – Westland, Michigan
Hush Haunted Attraction in Westland has grown into an entire Halloween world rather than a straightforward haunted house walkthrough. Guests move through heavily themed haunted environments filled with elaborate sets and original characters before emerging into additional entertainment, live performances, photo opportunities, and a horror boutique. Even the queue is incredibly immersive!
Hush is receiving another major transformation for 2026, with all-new nightmares awaiting inside its three haunted houses. The attraction is also bringing back one of its most unusual features: hidden bars located inside the experience for guests who purchase the VIP Bar Creep upgrade. The combination of elaborate scenery, scares, stage entertainment, and secret spaces makes Hush particularly well-suited for haunt fans who enjoy exploring as much as screaming.
Opening night: September 25th
Know Before You Go: All-indoor haunted attractions, free on-site parking, on-site tickets cost more and the haunt may sell out, no-touch attraction. Hosts a Lights Out on select nights in November.

Eloise Asylum – Westland, Michigan
Eloise Asylum is unusual even before the Halloween monsters arrive because the attraction operates inside part of the historic Eloise psychiatric hospital complex in Westland. The real institution dates back to the 1800s, and its history and reported paranormal activity give the haunt an atmosphere that would be difficult to manufacture from scratch.
The Halloween attraction has become known for high-end technology, massive scenic environments, theatrical effects, and using the building’s institutional setting to its advantage. Guests descend into dark medical environments and twisted experiments while exploring a property that also offers paranormal investigations, history tours, and escape rooms throughout the year. Eloise is composed of two haunted attractions.
Opening night: September 25th
Know Before You Go: Indoor attraction in a historic building, outdoor waiting, stairs, escape rooms, history tours, and paranormal investigations available separately throughout the year, and guests may experience some physical interaction depending on the current show.
Rotten Manor – Holly, Michigan
Rotten Manor in Holly is a sprawling horror destination built around the story of the Rotten family and their sinister estate. The property combines multiple large experiences, including the towering Rotten Manor, the wooded Rotten Forest and Asylum, the Rotten hayride, the House of Wax, and the Rotten Theatre – a vintage horror experience.
This is also one of the longest experiences on this list. During our 2025 visit, our team spent approximately 87 minutes inside the primary attractions, encountering detailed environments, enormous animatronics, moving floors, tunnels, theatrical performances, and an extensive midway between experiences. The permanent buildings and elaborate facades make Rotten Manor feel more like its own creepy little settlement than a temporary seasonal haunt.
Opening night: September 11th
Know Before You Go: Multiple indoor/outdoor attractions, free parking, midway games and activities, tickets are sold on-site only, CASH ONLY with an ATM available, and large bags/backpacks are prohibited. The Forest and Hayride begin at dusk, so plan your arrival accordingly.

Screams in the Dark Haunted Attractions – Kalkaska, Michigan
Screams in the Dark Haunted Attractions in Kalkaska brings several different styles of horror together at Blackwood Hollow, giving Northern Michigan haunt fans a destination with both indoor and outdoor experiences. Guests travel through the sinister Blackwood Manor, venture onto the Trail of the Lost, and eventually face the chaotic carnival atmosphere of Pandemonium.
The attraction has continued expanding its Midway of Madness with additional experiences outside the main haunts. New for 2026 are Escaping Evil 2, a five-minute escape game, and Crowe Mortuary, a new two-room escape challenge. Returning options include The Burial casket simulation, Psycho Spin human gyroscope, axe throwing, food, photo opportunities, and other midway entertainment.
Opening night: October 2nd
Know Before You Go: Indoor/outdoor attraction, limited nightly ticket capacity, advance tickets recommended, midway with food, additional activities, and escape games, The Burial, Psycho Spin and axe throwing require separate tickets. Screams in the Dark also hosts a limited-capacity Black Out event on November 1.
