Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

Containment Haunted House offers a unique haunted attraction built and staged within a series of shipping containers, creating a variety of confined spaces for its scenes and scares. Now in its fourth location, the haunt has settled onto the historic Jones Farm in Yorkville, Georgia, where its current incarnation continues to embrace an actor-driven approach. With energetic performers making the most of the compact environments and delivering much of the experience’s intensity, Containment demonstrates how a strong cast can bring a haunt to life without relying heavily on elaborate effects.

Guest Experience8.94

Containment is opening in a new location for the first time this year, so guests should allow a little extra time to find their way to the attraction. The location is somewhat off the beaten path, and Google Maps may not be entirely reliable in this area. During our visit, the map placed the haunt about three-quarters of a mile away from its actual location, so we recommend keeping an eye out for Ragsdale Elementary School, which sits directly across the street. Signage along the road was limited to a few tall “Open” banners and a Containment banner on the… Read More…

Immersion8.63

The immersion at Containment begins as soon as you arrive on the property, where a field filled with shipping containers gives guests an immediate sense of the attraction’s unique setting. After checking in at the ticket booth, guests make their way to the queue, entering the first of many containers that form the bulk of the haunt. The queue area is well lit, and its decor introduces the theme of the opening section. While the interactive characters did an excellent job entertaining guests as they waited, the limited outdoor lighting and lack of music around the entrance and queue felt… Read More…

Special Effects8.46

Containment made use of a variety of special effects throughout the haunt, including at least one that was a first for us! Although the attraction is primarily actor-driven, several animatronics were incorporated into the scenes, and most worked well within their surroundings. A few didn’t appear to be operating or didn’t trigger as we passed, but a well-placed actormatronic caught our entire group off guard and delivered an especially effective scare. Lighting was consistently well suited to each space, with scenes generally striking a good balance between visibility and atmosphere. The sound design also helped support the experience, though some… Read More…

Characters8.9

The characters are the standout feature of Containment, with the majority of the actors we encountered bringing tremendous energy and movement to their roles. Performers such as Spooks, Roadkill, and a character in a straightjacket moved so rapidly through the confined spaces that we often found ourselves turning in circles trying to keep up with the action! Spooks was a particular highlight, entertaining guests with numerous appearances around the queue line before popping up repeatedly in the opening sections of the haunt. The actors also made excellent use of the props and spaces around them, with the straightjacket character even… Read More…

Scare Factor8.97

The scares and character interactions at Containment came at a nearly nonstop pace, keeping our group alert throughout much of the walkthrough. Many of the actors were already in motion when we first encountered them and made a clear effort to engage everyone in our group rather than focusing on just one or two guests. Some performers used loud, piercing screams that felt amplified by the confined spaces, while others delivered frantic dialogue and unpredictable movements that added to the chaos. The tight container layouts also helped bring the actors close to guests, making their high-energy performances feel even more… Read More…

Value5.48

Our walkthrough time was 13 minutes, and general admission tickets cost $35. This works out to an MPD (minutes per dollar) ratio of 0.37, which falls on the lower end of the value range among the haunts we visit. In addition to the walkthrough itself, guests can enjoy three photo opportunities and interact with roaming characters, providing a few extra ways to enjoy the experience beyond the attraction.
