Summary

Celebrating 30 years of fear, Dungeon of Doom is one of the longest all-indoor haunted attractions we’ve ever experienced! Located inside a massive 45,000-square-foot building, it combines 10 connected themed areas into one enormous walkthrough: The Sanctuary, Terra Nova, Dead Clown Alley, Vines of Terror, Warehouse 30, The Slaughterhouse, Mercy General, Condemned, The Temple, and The Kill Room. Guests can also explore The Midway and add the optional Buried Alive experience if being trapped underground sounds like a good time! On this fall Friday night, Dungeon of Doom’s denizens were ready to unleash absolute chaos! They crawled out of the… Read More…

DoD has a great presence on all social sites and has even had a few videos go viral. Their website includes parking information, as parking is off-site and shuttles are offered to reach the attraction. We didn’t notice accessibility information on the website; however, after visiting, we found several floor-grading changes throughout the haunt, including stairs, ramps, and moving floors. Tickets are available both online and on-site. On-site staff and security are highly present and available to answer questions and direct guests. The queue features several effects, including lighting, fog, and sound. The queue features a large screen that shows… Read More…

After passing through security, we walked up a ramp to a brightly lit tunnel, their most popular social-media photo op. The queue lines are marked to guide you to your appropriate ticket type. The actors roam around and set the tone for the scares you are about to encounter. As much as they beg you, don’t lick the walls! While it wasn’t one cohesive theme, multiple mini themes made the haunt feel like we were in different attractions. The length overall also helped give the themes enough time to run as their own, not needing to sacrifice on props, details,… Read More…

Special Effects9.37

Where do we even begin? Dungeon of Doom did special effects right! This massive haunt threw everything at us, from subtle environmental details to entire rooms that moved. Realistic audio and ambient sounds matched the scenes, while sudden blasts and heavy bass occasionally scared us before anything even appeared. Several animatronics also moved quickly enough to deliver genuine surprises instead of simply serving as decor. Lighting, fog, haze, snow, water, and scents, some pleasant and some downright foul, attacked nearly every sense. Dungeon of Doom also featured some of the most effective elevation changes we’ve encountered at a single attraction.… Read More…

Characters9.49

The DoD actors were some of the most intense we have seen this season! With the attraction having so many narrow corridors and moments, actors can get right into personal space and even come from above. A great example of this is the Carnival scenes. The actors have free roam from the space above, allowing them to hit our group from various spots in little to no time. Being designed for guests to zigzag through the scenes, yet actors are able to get from spot to spot in just a few steps makes the scares very frequent and overwhelming at… Read More…

Scare Factor9.38

Celebrating 30 years of experience, the actors didn’t hold back on tormenting us! Coming at us from all angles, we weren’t spared the double and triple taps, no matter our position in the group. They did such a fantastic job using multiple hidden passages to keep the scares going, giving a false hope that it would be the last time we would see them. The brief dark transitions were a blessing placed strategically to bring temporary breathers in between high-intensity scares. Generally, we don’t look forward to breathers, but we did in this haunt! The unique layout of each room… Read More…

Value9.26

Right after the end, you can pick up souvenir pictures and pay for them at the merch table. For the 30th anniversary, they made special shirt and sweater designs we highly recommend checking out! General admission tickets (cheaper online) during our visit cost $39.98, including fees. They are $45 on-site. With the MPD at 1.13, which is above the national average, this shows that DoD knows the clientele and market very well! You will get your money’s worth here! Fast Pass options are available for $49.99 for a shorter wait, V.I.P admission for $59.99, and a Platinum Admission Premium Experience… Read More…
