Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

Eulogy Collective: Shades of Hell is a small, single haunt tucked among the restaurants and entertainment venues of the Anaheim Garden Walk. Previously a home haunt in Santa Ana, the creators went pro in 2025 and established Eulogy Collective as a year-round attraction, with a theme that is designed to shift every few months. When we attended, the “Shades of Hell” theme meant we were made to confess our sins before being cast into the Underworld. We encountered an array of characters, including a cruel priest and a sadistic dentist as we descended into Hell to face our greatest fears.… Read More…

Guest Experience8.48

Our primary impression when we walked away from this haunt was how professional it was: every element, from the shop to the sets, was realized with the polish of an attraction with a much higher budget. We’ve been to high-end attractions that were much less neatly organized than this, so we were impressed. We loved the storefront itself too; just as much care has been taken to transform it from an ordinary mall entertainment venue to a proper spooky environment: chandeliers and stone arches set the mood long before the experience begins. Sitting right next door to Disneyland, the haunt… Read More…

Immersion8.29

We were drawn into the story very quickly when we first entered the haunt, as we were seated on a church pew and received an excoriating sermon from a demonic priest; the actor had us squirming on the benches before condemning us to the depths of Hell. We’ll note that this was as deep as the “hell” theme went for most of the haunt; we got the sense that the sets would mostly remain the same. So while a dentist’s office is an appropriate setting for a haunt taking place in the Malebolge, it will probably not differ much when… Read More…

Special Effects8.93

This is a small haunt, but they have still managed to work in a few great effects; I don’t want to spoil what those were, because we genuinely didn’t expect a few of them. Lights and sounds added to the atmosphere, with a deep, ominous bass serving as an omnipresent source of dread. The lights play in a moody array of colors that make for a cool sensory effect. As we mentioned above, this haunt’s location has forced them to comply with the rules governing theme parks like Disneyland, an unusual restriction for a small haunt. This does impact the… Read More…

From the moment we arrived at the venue, the performers worked to draw us into the experience: a disheveled clown asked us what our biggest fears were, and warned us that we might face them inside. He didn’t miss a beat and smoothly rolled with it when we gave him answers like “failure” and “colony collapse disorder.” We interacted with multiple creepy characters outside of the haunt, and when we made our way inside, each of the inhabitants of the maze took their time and spoke to us at length, analyzing our respective sins and meting out appropriate punishments. There… Read More…

Scare Factor8.77

We ranked this one pretty high as far as scares go, because of the personal attention we all received and because of the variety of scares used in the attraction. We’re pretty seasoned haunters, and this one came with a few scares we honestly didn’t see coming. These were achieved both technically and with the help of the actors.

At one point, Jesse was trying to rush down the hallway and Danielle was shrieking, which is always a good sign that a haunt has done something right.

Value5.98

The cost for this one is about $32 (or $50 for a two-pack, a good deal if you go with a group of some multiple of that number), for about 6-10 minutes inside, which doesn’t necessarily sound like a great ratio on paper, but it’s important to note that your party will enter the haunt separately, meaning that your ticket price essentially entitles your group to a private haunt experience. During that experience, you’ll interact with the characters and be able to take your time appreciating the scenery. For that reason, we think it’s a good value for the price. Read More…
