Summary

In only its second season, Forsaken Souls Haunted Attraction in Edgerton, Wisconsin, is already making a name for itself. What began mainly as an indoor haunted house has expanded to include two outdoor attractions, offering guests three distinct experiences: Miss Fortune’s Curse, Twisted Hollow, and Carnage in the Corn. Our team was impressed with the amount of work that has gone into this relatively new attraction. From the detailed indoor environments to the eerie wooded trails and towering cornfield, FSHA for short, delivers a good variety of settings and scares. Each area brings something different to the experience, with several… Read More…

Guest Experience8.41

Our arrival at FSHA was relatively straightforward. While Google Maps didn’t initially pinpoint the exact haunt location, the address was readily available online, and signage, along with parking attendants, made finding our way easy. The parking area was flat, adequately lit, and organized, with friendly staff helping with traffic. Once on the property, navigating between ticketing, concessions, and the entrance was simple. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our visit, even giving us a friendly wave as we headed out for the night. While waiting to enter, several roaming queue actors interacted with guests and helped build anticipation. Our… Read More…

Immersion7.65

FSHA does a good job establishing distinct environments throughout its three attractions, with Miss Fortune’s Curse standing out as the strongest in scenic detail. Its vintage, speakeasy atmosphere was cohesive, featuring detailed sets, effective fog, and lighting that created an eerie mood without hiding all the work put into the surroundings. Twisted Hollow took a different approach, relying heavily on the natural atmosphere of the woods. One particularly memorable section led us through an extended stretch of near-total darkness, leaving us disoriented and wondering what might be lurking nearby. While effective, the wooded portion felt relatively short and could benefit… Read More…

Special Effects6.93

The special effects at FSHA were strongest inside Miss Fortune’s Curse, where fog, lighting, air blasts, and scenic details worked together to create an effective atmosphere. The indoor attraction also featured a laser swamp effect and several smaller practical effects that added variety to the walkthrough. One of our favorite moments was surprisingly simple: a telephone ringing unexpectedly in an otherwise quiet room. The sudden sound managed to startle someone in our group, proving that a well-timed effect doesn’t need to be elaborate to be effective. We also encountered a character whose unusual appearance initially had us questioning whether we… Read More…

Characters7.4

FSHA featured a respectable cast with a variety of characters, costumes, and performance styles throughout the attractions. Some relied on dialogue and unsettling interactions, while others used sudden movements, eerie stares, or unexpected approaches to catch guests off guard. Miss Fortune’s Curse had some of the strongest character presences, with actors fitting with the vintage atmosphere and helping bring the environment to life. One of the first characters we encountered was particularly vocal, delivering plenty of dialogue and setting the tone for what was ahead. Several characters stood out for their creativity. One, for example, appeared to be walking on… Read More…

Scare Factor7.54

FSHA delivered a good mix of jump scares, atmospheric tension, and unexpected encounters, with several moments that genuinely caught our group off guard. Considering how many haunted attractions we visit, we always appreciate it when actors manage to surprise us! One particularly effective scare came from an actor approaching low to the ground, catching one of our team members completely off guard. Another memorable moment occurred in the cornfield when an actor approached from behind using a horn-like sound effect. It was refreshing to see scares directed toward the back of the group rather than consistently targeting whoever happened to… Read More…

Value7.59

At $24 for a 20-minute walkthrough time, FSHA offers a solid value, especially considering guests experience three different themed environments for one admission price. Our calculated minutes-per-dollar rating came to 0.83, falling just short of the one-minute-per-dollar benchmark we like to see. However, the quality of the indoor attraction, combined with the wooded trail and cornfield, helped make the experience feel worthwhile. We particularly appreciated the variety of environments and how seamlessly the attractions were connected. Rather than spending additional time waiting in separate queues, we were able to move almost continuously through the experience, which helped maintain the pacing.… Read More…
