What They Liked Most:
Holy F what a haunt. We avoided for years after being told by friends up here in Michigan that they go too far. We've always considered it the ... Action Point of haunts. Then in 2025 at Scare Factor's boo bash we met a bunch of the cast and crew from here and suddenly understood they breed that attitude as part of the show. We travel ALL over the country, and the Dead Acres Haunted Hoochie is easily in the top tier of haunts anywhere. The safety standards are high, all danger is played straight up for scares. From the opening room with a simulated suicide to the mermaids, the chicken lover, the castration scene, the live demon birth, the antichrist, even the "c bomb" clown in the 4D maze, this haunt is absolutely batshit insane. The scare factor's review mentions 18 minutes, but we went at 1am on a friday and there were the gorillas, there were more stripping nuns, there were a ton of soldiers. I feel like they went on a light night because there were so many actors and scares it felt like an hour of terror while being 25-30 minutes. It also could be the energy of these freaks building over a whole night and blowing it out at the end. I would recommend going late to get a real 00s gore film feel. Unfortunately we already got the perfect night for atmosphere as the moon was full and directly overhead. Cannot say enough good stuff at this point about this place. Suggested Improvements:
I feel like half the actors are just there to add chaos. If they had a few more specific directions from the writers, they could really elevate this ... to a special "one of one" experience. I'm not mad, though, as the "c bomb" clown followed us into the funhouse and would not leave my buddy alone. More of those types of experiences would elevate this to a perfect score for us.
Another thing is having a juicy headshot at the beginning is cool. Having the chainsaw and decapitation and the castration were cool. I would *LOVE* for there to be a scene where they shoot gore "Gwar" style onto the crowd. Especially here I feel like they could sell ponchos for those who don't want to get covered in gore, but do a whole pneumatic thing shooting chunky blood on people and it would really be a cherry on top.
The only other thing I would add is a cohesive story throughout so it's not just "scenes from early 00s gore films" and more something like in the first room there's the suicide (could be where you get people covered in gore the first time), then there's a section of all the mutilation as you descend to hell, then at the soldier area you could say that our souls were joining the guy who killed himself in hell, devolve into hell, and on the other side it's more a ritual to bring us all back from hell, except in more gore from the ritual. Nothing is gorier than rebirth, and if they can spank me with an aborted fetus, they can definitely cover me in viscera as well.
All of these would be just my ideas to raise it further. This place is already a 9-10/10 and I am NOT complaining!!!Read More

This was so awesome. I am friends with some actors and my 9 year old son begged all summer to go and I finally decided to take him, he did get scared ... after seeing the first scene in the main house but it was nice the actors helped us out and that there were still other things we were able to do! He absolutely loved the 3d clown house maze! And he love the interaction with the actors. I was so happy that even though he got scared there was still something for him to do and we had such a blast!!Read More

What They Liked Most:
To me this was a bit overhyped. I have been to several better haunts, including some that didn't even involve foul language and "controvers... ial" content. Don't get me wrong, set design was very good and there were some unique animatronic/special effects. But overall it just felt like they were trying too hard to be edgy. I'd better be careful though with what I say. The owner doesn't take kindly to criticism and will call me a snowflake or some other snarky name... just like his orange-skinned idol. But to quote the owner, "This is America. We all have freedoms". And I have the freedom to think that there are better haunts in Ohio and elsewhere. But hey, that's just me.Read More
