Summary

Milltown Haunt is in Lovettsville, Virginia, and we honestly had no idea what to expect going into this place because we wanted to be completely surprised. The only thing we knew beforehand was that this was their third year in operation, but you wouldn’t have guessed that from our experience! This place was such a fun and awesome haunt, and we absolutely had a blast. Milltown Haunt offers three attractions, each with its own unique theme and experience. First, there’s The Void, which was previously their blackout maze. Then we have Barn of Fears and Thorne House. This attraction takes… Read More…

Guest Experience9.77

Upon arrival, we saw signs directing us to park in a grassy field, and there were plenty of parking staff members on hand to make the entire process easy and stress-free. We always appreciate it when a haunt puts effort into managing its parking because things can get tricky from time to time, especially at busy attractions! After getting out of the car and making our way inside, we noticed there were two ticket booths, along with signs clearly directing guests to each attraction. The midway was nicely decorated, and they even had a fire pit with cornhole set up… Read More…

Immersion8.31

At each attraction, you could tell that you were at a haunted attraction. The Void, Barn of Fears, and Thorne House are all next to each other, so you could hear the music playing throughout the midway, which we thought was a nice touch. We absolutely loved the exterior facades of Barn of Fears and Thorne House. The storylines for each attraction were also spot on, as you could easily tell what you were getting into as you moved through each room. In Tricksters Hollow, you’re essentially walking through a cornfield, so the theming is straightforward but fits the attraction… Read More…

Special Effects8.2

This place had some cool effects and featured things we’ve never encountered before. We really appreciate the hard work, creativity, and thought that go into creating these unique experiences. For instance, while walking through Barn of Fears and Thorne House, we came across a hallway filled with long, oversized hoses that you had to scramble through to reach the next room. We later found out that these were old, retired firehoses! We’ve never seen another attraction use something like this, and we really appreciated the creativity and effort that went into incorporating them. Another effect we really enjoyed was a… Read More…

Characters8.73

Milltown Haunt has some great actors who really bring these attractions to life. We enjoyed the variety of characters we encountered throughout the night, each bringing something different to the experience. From the actor in the kids’ room to the character in the greenhouse who kept telling us to go “this way” or “that way,” there were plenty of memorable performances. Both experiences were part of Barn of Fears and Thorne House. That actor was fantastic! They had us walking in circles repeatedly through the greenhouse area, which featured a small maze made up of hanging drapes. No matter which… Read More…

Scare Factor7.92

Barn of Fears and Thorne House had plenty of startle scares throughout both attractions, which we really enjoyed. There were also lots of props and animatronics designed to catch you off guard, adding even more surprises along the way. One thing we noticed was that the actors would go after everyone in your group, making sure nobody was left out of the scares! The ending was cool! The actor appeared to be suspended on some sort of netting and had the look of a giant spider. We absolutely loved this effect because it was something we had never seen before.… Read More…

Value8.77

We spent a total of 40.5 minutes inside all the attractions combined, and with general admission tickets priced at $40, that works out to an MPD (Minutes Per Dollar) of 1.01. This is right around the benchmark we look for, meaning Milltown Haunt meets and even exceeds our expectations for value! VIP tickets are available for $55, and for an additional $10, you can purchase an unlimited entry ticket that gives you unlimited access to the attractions for the night. This is a great option for anyone who wants to experience the haunt multiple times. If haunted attractions aren’t your… Read More…
