Summary

Nestled deep in the cornfields of LaSalle, Colorado, about 10 miles southwest of Greeley, Scream Acres at Fritzler Farm Park is back and bigger than ever this season, having expanded by thousands of feet since 2025 and with an entirely reconfigured queue area Scream Park that sets hauntgoers free to mingle with one another, play games, watch live shows, or interact with the clowns toying with guests who need a jumpstart or brave asking for a picture. During the day, Fritzler Farm Park hosts a full fall festival, complete with putt-putt, photo ops, games, pedal go-karts, yard games, pumpkin cannons,… Read More…

Guest Experience9.68

Getting to Scream Acres is a breeze given its location near the intersection of Highway 85 and County Roads 33 and 44. Your map app of choice will take you right to the parking lot, and there’s plenty of information generally available online, including on the haunt’s (and Fritzler Farm Park’s) websites should any questions remain lingering. Following the signs and flaggers from there will lead visitors to the parking nearest the Farm Park’s entrance, which is incredibly welcoming with lights lining the sky above the ticket line, with a beer garden in the background and a row of portapotties… Read More…

Immersion8.67

Visitors go from the Scream Park into a short queue line directly outside of the haunt entrance that warns of the Curse of the Blood Moon, the theme of the haunt that remains somewhat hidden in the shadows of a QR code despite offering incredibly rich lore. That back story continues from last season with The Curse of the Blood Mood Part II, Kharvos’ Revenge, consisting of five chapters that set out in fanciful detail what guests might encounter between the Scream Park and Scream Acres. After passing below the blood moon adorning the haunt entrance, visitors are left to… Read More…

Special Effects8.8

Utilizing thousands of feet of additional space this season, Scream Acres did a tremendous job of filling the space with great-looking set pieces and a handful of conservatively used animatronics, while using lighting and fog with intention to highlight, obscure, and disorient. Some sets consist of little more than stacks of haybales, but even those areas are set off by fog, lighting, and sound that is subtly crafted to burrow into one’s subconscious while allowing the actors to shine. Other areas, such as the small chapel or sickening kitchen, offer a lot more visual appeal that helps to deepen the… Read More…

Characters8.97

All of those special effects do a tremendous job of setting the scenes that the cast breathes life into with their incredible performances. There were actors around just about every corner, sometimes multiple people working in teams to terrify and work set pieces from one end to the other, and sometimes from top to bottom. One actor in particular made us extra jumpy, springing at us before narrowly missing, which, when juxtaposed with the towering, grotesque visages in the area, left us leaping away! Each of the actors we encountered were unique, though fitting within the overall themes of the… Read More…

Scare Factor8.68

The scares kept coming at Scream Acres, even when we thought they were done, with one last actor near the end providing a great lift once we’d been lulled into a sense of security. The same is true throughout the nearly 30-minute-long haunt, though much more frequent. While there were a few areas that allowed visitors a few seconds unaccosted, the majority of the haunt had at least one actor approaching, following, menacing, or otherwise assaulting us. One terrific scare consisted of one actor lingering high in the path while menacing us, while his unseen partner struck from below, sending… Read More…

Value7.76

Scream Acres came in at 29 minutes long, but that is just the haunt itself. Hauntgoers are able to access Fritzler Farm Park as early as 4:00 p.m. to take advantage of its activities, many of which come with the cost of admission, and are able to access the Scream Park once its gates swing open as well for as long as they would like before entering the haunt. That takes the 29-minute long haunt, which comes in at a surprisingly low .65 minutes per dollar, and turns it into a several hour experience, complete with haunted and non-haunted seasonal… Read More…
