Cast Review:
Stranger Things: The cast inside the Stranger Things experience was small, and their lines were few, making their silence feel eerie. While they stayed true to character, anyone unfamiliar with the show might find themselves wondering why these iconic figures were so quiet. Their presence was not purely passive; they engaged physically in most scenes, creeping through the set, and delivering few well-timed jump scares that kept tensions high. From Vecna’s menacing figure to Eddie’s rebellious energy, the variety of characters covered a wide range, ensuring fans of the show felt that familiar and thrilling sense of danger and nostalgia.
Camp Slasher: The campers at Camp Slasher were easily the most interactive cast of the night. They fully embraced their roles as terrified, hunted victims, and it showed in each scene. Nearly everywhere we turned, a bleeding, frightened teen was there, pleading for help or begging us to turn back before it was too late. Their voices echoed through the woods, shouting desperate warnings that “he” was coming for us next. The intensity of fear made the atmosphere even more chilling, immersing our team in panic and making us feel as though the killer was lurking around every corner.
Saw: The cast of Saw brought the haunt to life. They were not just vocal; they were intensely physical! At one point, their performances were so convincing, we questioned whether we were witnessing real torture as we kept moving through the scene! Actors fully embodied agony and desperation of their characters. One performer was strapped into “The Rack” from Saw III, and we had to stop for a moement to check if they were truly just acting, it was that convincing! Commitment to roles made every moment feel disturbingly real, which added to the chilling atmosphere of this haunt.
Nyctophobia: This house was a masterclass in playing on fear of darkness. Despite having a cast of only about four people, the small number was more than enough to deliver an intense and chilling experience. The house thrived on unsettling silence and pitch-black surroundings. When we would start to feel comfortable, as our team navigated the maze, thinking we were alone, a sudden loud bang or eerie rattling within the darkness would jolt us to heightened fears. Actors were hidden in shadows, making it impossible to see them until it was too late. The sense of the unknown, combined with stealthy movements, made the experience more terrifying, as every step forward felt like we were walking deeper into the unknown.
Carnival of Chaos: Clowns – We love them! This crew fully embraced playful chaos. As soon as our team entered the attraction, a flurry of laughter and brightly colored clowns, gleefully tossing balls at us, created a sense of fun and mischief. Amidst the cheerful chaos were clowns with a sinister edge and unsettling giggles that cut through the noise and left us with chills. The house filled with lively, yet eerie characters dressed in vibrant, circus-like costumes that looked like they came straight from the big top! Their infectious energy masked the underlying creepiness, making our experience a perfect blend of fun and fright.

Costuming Review:
Stranger Things: Costuming in this haunt was spot-on, capturing the essence of each character perfectly. From Eddie’s iconic Hellfire Club tee to Henry’s classic white button-up and tie, every outfit felt true to the setting. Makeup was minimal, reflecting that everyone in the haunt was still very much “alive”… for now. The simplicity in makeup allowed realism and intensity of performances to shine through.
Camp Slasher: The counselors in this haunt rocked the classic 80s vibe, with their camp shirts and retro shorts setting the scene. The makeup was a standout, bringing the terror to life with bloodied faces and bodies, showing the brutal aftermath of encounters with the masked killer. The attention to detail in the gore added a chilling layer of realism to the overall experience.
SAW: Every victim’s appearance in the Saw house was well-crafted. Tattered clothes and bloodied faces fit perfectly in torturous scenes. The realism was so intense that we often questioned whether we witnessed acting or something far too real! Though Jigsaw himself did not appear, his presence was felt throughout the haunt, etched into the terrified expressions and brutalized costumes of the actors.
Nyctophobia: There’s not much to say here as all actors were appropriately in black robes and masks to blend with the dark environment.
Carnival of Chaos: For the love of clowns! Every actor in this haunt bursts with color! Decked out in vibrant costumes and exaggerated makeup, the chaotic theme was captured. Each clown fit seamlessly into the madness; faces painted in meticulous detail, adding to the unsettling atmosphere, and ensuring no one looked out of place in Carnival of Chaos.

Customer Service Review:
Six Flags is absolutely massive! As first-time visitors, we had no idea what we were stepping into. The customer service was fantastic! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, which made us feel welcomed. We also felt safe as public safety personnel were appropriately placed throughout the park, providing a reassuring presence.
Now, here’s why we didn’t give them a perfect score in this category. Six Flags’ size made it challenging to navigate, so prepare with time and do research ahead of arrival. Signage for the haunts and scare zones were almost nonexistent. We walked over six miles, often retracing our steps. While they did provide a park map, it wasn’t user-friendly for newcomers. The park app promised a map and GPS tracker, but it wasn’t updated with information about the haunts and scare zones, which would have been incredibly helpful.

Immersion Review:
The entire park transformed for the season, with eerie fog rolling through and low lights setting the perfect atmosphere. The sounds created an immersive mood pulling us into the experience. Each haunt was themed, making it easy to grasp the storylines. We consistently felt like we were part of a haunted event, which helped maintain that spooky vibe as we moved between attractions.
Stranger Things: The storyline in the Stranger Things house was easy to follow if you’re a fan of the series, but for those unfamiliar, it might have been a bit confusing. However, the sounds and immersive scenes truly pulled us in, bringing the Upside Down to life. The eerie growls, haunting atmosphere, and attention to detail made it feel like we had stepped straight into Hawkins, Indiana.
Camp Slasher: The long walk from the start of the haunt through the “woods” to the cabin felt more like a queue line for a ride that wasn’t running, which made it hard to separate from that experience. While there were some scenes along the way, they didn’t fully immerse us. However, once inside the cabin, the atmosphere completely changed. It was well-executed, making us feel like we were wandering through a summer camp with authentic details and eerie vibes.
Saw: The Saw house truly pulled us in with its gripping special effects and intense scene settings. The immersion was so strong that it blurred the line between fiction and reality, making us question our surroundings. The attention to detail in each room kept us on edge, fully absorbed in the twisted world of Jigsaw.
Nytophobia: The complete darkness, punctuated only by a brief flash of green light on the floor every 10 seconds, played tricks on our senses and had us completely captivated throughout the entire walk. The eerie silence and disorienting flashes created a suspenseful atmosphere that kept us on edge, heightening every sound and movement.
Carnival of Chaos: It was easy to stay immersed in this haunt. The clowns’ maniacal laughter and the unexpected barrage of flying ball pit balls kept us deep in the chaotic carnival atmosphere the entire way through. Every twist and turn reinforced the unsettling, yet playful, vibe of the experience.

Special FX Review:
Stranger Things: The creeping vines on the walls and dark red lighting immediately transported us to the eerie realm of the Upside Down. Every corner echoed with a haunting soundtrack, filled with unsettling sounds – the growls of Demogorgons and the chilling screams of other guests, immersed us completely into the Stranger Things world. The atmosphere felt electric, with each sound heightening the tension and anticipation.
Camp Slasher: In the camp scene, small but impactful details like bunk beds, scattered board games, and kayaks really brought the setting to life. The authenticity of the space pulled us deeper into the storyline, while the chilling sounds of screaming campers begging for their lives filled the air, adding a tense layer of horror to the experience.
Saw: The props and torture devices in the Saw haunt were disturbingly realistic. Every corner held a gruesome detail, and the low, ominous lighting heightened our dread. Spotlights focused on Jigsaw’s cryptic messages, which taunted us with the question, “Do you want to play a game?” It was an unsettling touch that fully immersed us in the twisted world of this haunt.
Nyctophobia: The suffocating silence in Nyctophobia heightened our other senses, turning the absence of sound into a powerful tool of fear. With minimal effects, the tension was intense, leaving us disoriented as we navigated the darkness. A single green line on the floor, illuminated in brief 10-second intervals, was the only guide, intensifying the feeling of vulnerability. The simplicity of the scene made it one of the most overwhelming and unnerving experiences.
Carnival of Chaos: The Carnival struck a perfect balance between laughter and screams, creating a bizarre and thrilling atmosphere. The vibrant, flashing lights contrasted with the eerie, low music – a dark, unsettling hum that crept into our bones. The chaotic energy of the carnival setting made each moment unpredictable, leaving us on edge, laughing one second and jumping in fright the next. The clash between the bright visuals and haunting soundscape kept the tension alive throughout.

Scare Factor Review:
While the scares did not disappoint, most attractions lacked clear finales, leaving us feeling underwhelmed. The core elements of each haunted house were well-executed, offering jump scares for instance, but certain scenes felt a bit sparse. Our team found ourselves wanting more engagement, though they did catch us off guard at times throughout the haunts.
Stranger Things: Once again, it’s worth noting that if you’re a fan of the show, the experience might hit harder than for those who aren’t. The Demodogs, with their menacing presence, were truly terrifying! While the finale might not have been as intense as expected, the scares throughout the haunt were expertly executed and left a lasting impression.
Camp Slasher: The initial immersion at the start of the haunt set low expectations, leaving us craving more. But once we stepped into the cabin scene, we were met with some truly shocking and unexpected scares – imagine a killer bursting out of the wall, axe in hand, ready to strike! It was a heart-pounding moment that made the experience unforgettable.
Saw: This house was undoubtedly our favorite of the night. The meticulously crafted scenes and haunting sounds kept us on edge, making the scares feel effortless. Even when we anticipated them, they still managed to make us jump – proof of just how well-executed the atmosphere was!
Nyctophobia: The darkness is terrifying, regardless of age! That unsettling sensation of someone lurking behind you, hidden from sight, makes your heart race. You can’t shake the thought that a scare could come from any direction at any moment. The intermittent flashes of light every ten seconds heightened the tension, disorienting our senses and amplifying the anxiety with every pulse of illumination. This haunt had us paranoid!
Carnival of Chaos: This haunt delivered a solid scare factor, especially with its creepy clowns lurking from every direction, keeping us on edge about what might happen next. We’re fans of both jump scares and playful frights, and who would have thought that a clown emerging from a ball pit could catch us off guard? It was a delightful surprise!

At a ticket price of $50 and less than 20 minutes spent in all five haunts, it might seem steep. However, this cost allows you to enjoy the park’s rides throughout the day and dive into the spooky attractions after dark.
With six scare zones scattered throughout the park, you’re truly getting your money’s worth. The actors and scenes in Crimson Vein, Reaper’s Curse, Roswell, GA, Promenade Theater, Trolls, and Freak Show keep the eerie vibes alive as you navigate through the park.
On weekends, there’s Kids Boo, a family-friendly event free from scares, making it accessible for all ages. Plus, with October bringing Oktoberfest, you can indulge in exclusive seasonal eats and drinks.
Overall, the value at Six Flags Over Georgia is impressive, especially with all the activities on offer. Just another friendly reminder: be sure to wear comfortable footwear!
