Summary

Just south of Old Town in the heart of Wichita sits one of the city’s fully indoor haunted attractions. This haunt spans about 10,000 square feet with more than 20 themed rooms and around 50+ scare actors waiting to play. Several well-marked emergency/chicken exits are located throughout the haunt for those who can’t handle the terror. While there was some gore, it wasn’t excessive, nor was there any nudity or excessive foul language, making this a good choice for younger haunt goers, families, or those looking for more than just blood and guts. There were strobe and flashing lights in… Read More…

Guest Experience7.25

While they didn’t have very many signs guiding the way to the queue line, they did have it roped off, and it was easy to navigate once you found the opening. They don’t have any fast passes currently (or at least I didn’t see anything about them), so it’s just the one queue line. The ticket booth is located inside the haunt building at the start of the queue line, so you buy your tickets once you reach the front of the line (or online in advance). Security was walking around the haunt entrance and in the overflow parking lot… Read More…

Immersion6.9

As you make your way to the front of the queue line, you’ll feel like you’re inside a gothic Victorian-style house. There is ominous music playing with dim lighting to help set the mood. The actress at the front will explain the rules in character before banging the door knocker and opening the doors to let you in. The haunt was built around a legend of a book made from human skin that traps 13 evil souls. Each of these souls is a character throughout the haunt, all with their own stories and themed rooms. As mentioned before, there are… Read More…

Special Effects6.2

No haunt is complete without some fun special effects. They had a few animatronics but mainly relied on their actors and the details of the rooms to scare people. You could hear eerie music throughout the haunt in addition to all the sound effects. The music helped keep the overall eerie feeling going and prevented any awkward silent moments. Lots of loud and startling sounds, loud banging, car horns, clown horns, etc., are used constantly throughout the haunt so you never know when you’re going to jump. Multi-colored and colored lights helped set the rooms and transition areas, while flashing… Read More…

Characters6.85

Throughout the haunt, you’ll meet a variety of characters, including the 13 evil souls. Some will stare you down; others will follow you, but be cautious of the ones that speak and try to lure you into the darkness. They say they want to be friends, but don’t believe their wicked intentions. They want to keep you there. There were several characters that will interact with you and what you say and do. This always makes the haunts more fun. There were also a few characters I really didn’t expect to see. It’s not very often you see aliens in… Read More…

Scare Factor6.93

The haunt features a lot of the classic scare tactics that make a good haunt. Lots of screaming and banging, horns going off, animatronics, following from other rooms, drop-down wall scares, etc. Two scares really stood out to me and got me more than I expected. While I won’t ruin the surprise with the exact details, I will hint around them, so if you’ve been to this haunt you might know what I’m talking about. The first scare I should have seen coming but brushed it off as “paranoia”. There was a character that I knew for a fact was… Read More…

Value5.68

The tickets for this haunt were $27 for adults, $17 for youth, and you can buy them at the door or buy timed tickets online. It took me 10 minutes to survive the haunt, but I could see it taking 15 if you slowed down and looked at the room detail a bit more. That put this one a little bit more on the expensive side as far as MPD, but it is one of the few all-indoor haunts in the area. Overall, this is a good haunt that’s worth checking out and is a great option if it’s cold… Read More…
