Summary

If you have ever wanted to know what it was like to be stuck on a haunted island, with water surrounding you and nowhere to run away and escape, this is the attraction for you. This haunt is located on a small island on the lake inside O J Watson Park. It’s in its 11th year with the current owners but has been around for 35 years in some form, starting in the 1990’s. It’s about a 1-mile hike through natural uneven terrain that’s littered with abandoned vehicles and structures. Since there are several hills and stairs, it probably won’t… Read More…

Guest Experience6.3

There was a sign at the entrance to the park, but nothing after that. I basically drove away until I saw a parking lot with a lot of cars and a building with orange lights and assumed that was the haunt. If you look at a map, the road eventually ends, and you must run around, so you can’t really “get lost”. The parking lot is across the street from the ticket booth building, which is an established park building. Once you get your ticket, you then walk across this playground area to the queue lines. There was a person… Read More…

Immersion7.65

This is a little bit of a unique haunt in the fact that it is literally on an island in a 40-acre lake area. You must walk across a long wooden bridge to get to the start of the scary stuff. While the walkway is very safe and well maintained, hearing the boards creak under every step as you cross the silent water gave it a very eerie feeling that matched the haunt’s whole vibe. While you can see some flashing lights and hear some sounds as you approach, the trees block most of it and keep the haunt mostly… Read More…

Special Effects7.15

The haunt relies heavily on the play between dark trails with no or minimal light and very bright lights shining at you that throw off your night vision. They also used different types of flooring effects throughout the haunt; part of the trail was dirt, and some felt like softer sand. Some of the structures had wooden platforms, and others had things like plastic or sheet metal that you walked across that gave different sounds and feelings as you walked. One of the neat effects they had was the sound of a heart beating. You couldn’t hear it all over… Read More…

Characters7.43

There’s a variety of characters throughout this haunt, and I feel like the majority, if not all, were original characters. There were various costumes and masks as well as face paint, but since it was a dark haunted trail, it was hard to pick out details on a lot of the costumes. There were some clowns, zombies, hillbillies, evil doctors, and various other unique creatures, just to name a few. Most of them were into quick jump scares, but some actors had much more dialogue and played with you if you kept talking to them. I didn’t really hear any… Read More…

Scare Factor6.43

The biggest scare I noticed consistently throughout the haunt was the use of lighting and dark areas. Going on a winding haunted trail and not knowing what’s up ahead and having your night vision messed up with, throws you into uncertainty. Actors are jumping out from all sides so nobody in your group is safe and you can’t see most of them coming. As far as actual planned scares, this haunt did a good job on jump scares and following people. There were multiple occasions where an actor would follow me for what felt like a long time down a… Read More…

Value8.2

This haunt came in at $20 for general admission for adults, $15 for children, and $40 for fast pass for all ages. I went with just the adult general admission for $20. I was surprised at the length of time this haunt took because I couldn’t find much about it online. It took me 30 minutes to complete the haunt, putting this at a good DPM value. Overall, this is a good haunt with a unique feeling and lots of fun characters to see. The island adds something unique that most outdoor trails don’t have the ability to capture. While… Read More…
