Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

Now in its third year of operation, Conjure Haunted Attraction is ready to scare and entertain guests once again. This year, Conjure has modified its storyline to create stronger connections between the characters, while also making several upgrades inside the haunt designed to engage more of your senses. These changes add some fresh elements to an experience that continues to evolve from year to year. Conjure delivers awesome frights and also gives back to the community. The owner has a passion for helping survivors of domestic violence and gives a portion of the haunt proceeds to Andrew’s Place, a Birmingham… Read More…

Start planning your visit to Conjure Haunted Attraction by checking out their website. It’s a great resource for answering most of the questions you may have before your visit, and it goes beyond the basic information by providing a historical synopsis of the haunt along with images of select characters. Immersion8.99

The immersion at Conjure Haunted Attraction starts as soon as you enter the building. The dark walls are lined with TVs displaying horror-themed content and different versions of the haunt’s logo, while a large-scale version of the logo dominates one wall and makes for a great photo opportunity. Look up, and you’ll find the ceiling crawling with skeletons, along with several very tall skeletons watching over guests from different areas of the room. The queue eventually leads to a very realistic-looking house facade, which serves as the entrance to the haunt itself. Once inside, the sets kept us firmly within… Read More…

Special Effects8.94

The lighting throughout Conjure was well done, with only a spot or two where a small adjustment could potentially improve the effect. One of our favorite lighting effects was an addition to the blackout maze area, but we’ll leave it at that to avoid spoiling the surprise. The ambient audio remained consistent from one scene to the next, with additional sound effects adding texture and helping each room feel distinct. Fog was used in several areas, including the laser swamp, where lasers positioned both above and below us, paired with overarching tree branches, created a more enclosed feeling as we… Read More…

Characters8.8

Conjure had actors in nearly every room, with several scenes featuring multiple characters. The only noticeable gaps were the laser swamp and spider areas, which were more focused on their environmental effects. The actors did a great job engaging the entire group, with many giving individual attention to each of us rather than simply moving from one guest to the next. Several rooms featured multiple actors who played off one another particularly well, while others found some creative, non-traditional hiding spots that allowed them to deliver some great surprise scares. The costuming worked well for the individual areas of the… Read More…

Scare Factor8.81

Conjure uses a variety of strategies to tap into some basic fears, with several familiar phobias making an appearance during our walkthrough. Fear of spiders? Check! Fear of the dark? Check! The atmosphere and characters worked together to playfully target those fears, while silent, foreboding figures created a sense of intimidation, and other characters tried to lure us into staying and becoming part of the experience. A couple of characters even managed to show up two or three times as we progressed through the house, leaving us wondering how they managed to cover so much ground. The scares came from… Read More…

Value8.48

A general admission ticket is $27, and our walkthrough time was 27 minutes. That works out to an MPD (minutes per dollar) of 1.00, which represents great value. The entertainment doesn’t stop when you leave the haunt, either. The various wandering queue actors help keep things lively while you wait, and there are plenty of opportunities for photos. You can have your picture taken with Papa Conjure, the Ringmaster, or any number of the other souls lurking around the skeletal common area.
