Every actor was believable, and no two performances felt the same. The sergeants commanded their scenes with stern intensity, while others used colorful language in ways that felt natural to their characters. Some entertained us, some informed or warned us, and others demonstrated exactly what could happen if we didn’t escape the process. A good number of actors helped fill the facility, interacting convincingly with us, their environments, and one another. This crew was in a league of its own, kudos!
Their appearances also fit the BioMedCorp storyline remarkably well. The costumes weren’t overly elaborate or heavily layered, and the cast didn’t rely on many masks, but neither was necessary for these grounded, realistic characters. Each uniform, lab coat, and infected look immediately told us who belonged in the operation and who had already become one of its unfortunate results.
The masks they did use were unique, while the makeup coordinated so well with the costumes and surroundings that some characters nearly disappeared into their scenes. Special-effects makeup, colored contacts, and distinct costuming details clearly separated the infected from the uninfected. Even subtle touches made a difference, like one doctor’s slimy, disheveled hair, which perfectly completed his “I’ve completely lost my damn mind” look.
These may not have been the wildest costumes we had ever seen, but they didn’t need to be. Every look served a purpose, supported the story, and made BioMedCorp feel alarmingly real!
