We’ve created a creepy list of Halloween haunted house attractions that we’ve reviewed, visited ourselves, filmed, or are popular amongst many haunt visitors! Remember, this is not a “best of” list – this is a list of haunts we feel that you need to add to your visit list this season for various reasons. Now… let’s get to this list of spooky shenanigans!

#8. Terror on Route 66 – Sullivan, Missouri

Terror on Route 66 is located on the classic Route 66 highway, which makes it fun to travel to! They feature multiple themed areas at one single location, just an hour from downtown St. Louis! With a dedicated cast, impressive and detailed set design, and off-season events, you can tell that this haunted attraction was made from love and lots of hard work from everyone involved! Opening night for the 2025 season is September 20th!

#7. Hell Harvest – Potosi, Missouri

Hell Harvest Haunted House will be open every Friday and Saturday starting the last weekend of September through November 1st for the 2025 season!

#6. Lemp Brewery Haunted House – St. Louis, Missouri

Located underground in real caves is Lemp Brewery Haunted House, and once you’re down there… no one will hear you scream! As you travel down a metal spiral staircase over 100 feet beneath the ground, you’ll start to question your life choices! But trust us… that noise you heard in the dark is someone watching your every move! Good luck finding your way out of this one! The screaming begins on October 2nd!

#5. The Dead Factory Haunted House – Mexico, Missouri

In the Dead Factory Haunted House, prepare to walk through the mind of Dr. Phobia and immerse yourself in the scary horror within! Celebrating 10 years of fear for the 2025 season, the factory opens on September 27th!

#4. The Beast – Kansas City, Missouri

The Beast lives up to its name in Kansas City, Missouri. This haunt was truly a beast in terms of how involved it was from start to finish. The Beast will take you through many different eras to escape from, blow your mind with its excellent use of high-end technology, and leave you with a unique experience that makes it stand out amongst similar attractions!

#3. The Darkness Haunted House – St. Louis, Missouri

The Darkness is celebrating its 32nd year of fear in 2025! By far, this haunt has some of the most amazing special effects in the haunt industry! The 3D haunt is gone, and they are unveiling a brand new haunt called the Butcher Shop. While you’re visiting The Darkness, you can also play mini retro golf, pinball machines, see a great horror store, take plenty of selfies in their giant monster selfie experience, play escape rooms, and more! On September 19th, they will open for Slasher weekens and switch to their regular show in October.

#2. The Edge of Hell – Kansas City, Missouri

The Edge of Hell is a five-story fright from heaven to hell! This is a sensory haunted house that will leave you on your toes! 2025 will mark their 51st season! Opening night is September 12th!

#1. Creepyworld – Fenton, Missouri

Creepyworld features multiple scare zones, photo ops, and 13 haunted attractions all at one Screampark! The park opens September 27th with new upgrades, including a revamped hayride, Monster Mansion, and more!
