Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

Devils Last Laugh’s opening night was September 25th, and we were only the second group to enter the attraction. Going in, we really didn’t know what to expect, but it absolutely didn’t disappoint. From the moment we entered Walcksville Asylum to the final moments of their scare zone, The Spread, the actors were completely on point. Honestly, it felt like these scare actors had been performing in their designated areas for weeks, not just the first two groups of the season! The timing, energy, and interactions were incredibly well executed. Everything flowed smoothly, and we were genuinely shocked by how… Read More…

When we arrived, our GPS took us directly to the right location without any issues. The attraction is easy to spot from the road thanks to a large sign, and parking is in a spacious grass field. The haunt does take place on residential property behind the house; just follow the signs! We spoke with a staff member, who was extremely professional, and quickly explained where we should park. Before our visit, we found the website to be straightforward to navigate. Important information was simple to locate, making the planning process quick and hassle-free. The staff selling tickets were friendly,… Read More…

One of the first things we noticed was that this attraction appears to be housed inside a large barn. On the exterior, handmade signs and lighting helped set the mood and create a rustic, eerie atmosphere before we even entered. While the outside is simple, it did a good job of establishing the haunted attraction feel. The storyline was one of the stronger aspects of the experience. From beginning to end, the narrative remained consistent and easy to follow, helping immerse guests in the world of Walcksville Asylum. We never felt like scenes were randomly placed or disconnected from the… Read More…

Special Effects7.95

For a smaller, newer haunt, the sound design didn’t disappoint. The speakers throughout the attraction seemed to be set at the right volume and delivered clear, effective audio. While some areas were noticeably louder than others, it never felt overwhelming. Instead, the varying sound levels helped enhance different scenes and contributed to the atmosphere each area was trying to create. The sounds in the demonic room were downright terrifying! The set design throughout the attraction was also well executed. We especially loved how they incorporated actual security monitors inside the security shack, which added realism and made the scene feel… Read More…

Characters8.56

A decent number of actors were spread throughout the attraction, and we really appreciated how different each performance felt. Rather than seeing the same style of character repeated, the actors each brought their own unique personalities, mannerisms, and energy to their roles. It also felt like they were positioned in the right locations, allowing their characters and scenes to make the biggest impact possible. Some of the most memorable moments of the night came from the actors themselves. One patient repeatedly screamed “four” at us, rambling about four this and four that. The performance was bizarre, confusing, and completely unpredictable,… Read More…

Scare Factor7.59

The scares came from all directions, and the actors took advantage of every opportunity to catch us off guard. One thing we really enjoyed was the constant anticipation of not knowing when or where the next scare would happen. The actors stayed persistent, which kept the experience exciting and kept us from getting too comfortable as we moved through the attraction. This is a light-touch attraction, and you will need to sign a waiver before entering. You may also need to crawl, you may get separated from your group, and face some disgusting encounters. Several moments also used misdirection very… Read More…

Value6.85

Tickets start at $30 for both online and at-the-door purchases, and the Satanic VIP ticket option is $50. If you plan to purchase tickets at the gate, bring cash, as all on-site ticket sales are cash only (even though they do have the ATM, as mentioned above). Our experience lasted approximately 15 minutes from start to finish, resulting in an MPD (minutes per dollar) of 0.50. Typically, we look for an MPD of around 1.0 when evaluating value. However, the numbers don’t always tell the whole story. While Devils Last Laugh falls below our usual value benchmark, we still felt… Read More…
