Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

Horror House fully commits to its Psycho Circus theme, and if you’ve ever looked at a clown and thought, “I bet that guy is trustworthy,” this haunt is here to correct that mistake. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by an impressive big-top circus facade that immediately sets the mood for the night. Before entering the haunt, guests can enjoy live music, browse a few vendors, and even get their palm read. The atmosphere outside does a good job of building anticipation before you ever step through the entrance! Once inside the haunt, the attraction leans heavily into its… Read More…

Guest Experience7.81

The overall experience at Horror House is fun because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. While there is some language from the scare actors that might make parents raise an eyebrow, the event is generally approachable for older kids and teens who enjoy Halloween attractions. It’s creepy without being overly extreme, making it a good “starter haunt” for families looking to graduate from pumpkin patches to something a little more chaotic. Once inside the haunt, though, the clowns bring plenty of energy. The scares aren’t necessarily the most intense you’ll find in Florida, but there are enough jump scares to… Read More…

Immersion8.31

When it comes to immersion, Horror House does a solid job committing to its theme of a psycho circus. From the moment you spot the circus tent, you know exactly what kind of night you’re in for. The event never really abandons that identity. The midway, the actors, and the haunt itself all stick to the idea that you’ve wandered into a circus that’s gone wrong. Around the midway, there are a few face-cutout photo opportunities, string lights, vendors, carnival games for the kids, and live entertainment. What is there helps set the mood and gives guests something to do… Read More…

Special Effects7.33

When it comes to special effects, the haunt relies heavily on fog to create its atmosphere. Sometimes it works really well, helping hide actors and making guests feel disoriented as they move through the attraction. Other times, there was simply too much of it. There were several scenes where the fog was so thick that it became difficult to appreciate the set design or even see what the scare was supposed to be, let alone breathe! The sound design was generally effective, but the haunt leaned a little too heavily on air horns. The first few blasts got great reactions.… Read More…

Characters7.62

The characters at Horror House Psycho Circus are what you would expect… clowns. There are a few other different characters that come to scare you once you are wandering the haunt’s twisted maze, but it’s mostly clowns. Crazy clowns, sad clowns, and psychotic clowns- you take your pick! The costumes weren’t elaborate or super detailed, but they conveyed the theme perfectly. A recommendation would be to have a little more variety in the looks and style of the clowns and perhaps more makeup and detail, if the theme is kept for future haunts. Our favorite clown of the evening was… Read More…

Scare Factor6.99

As far as scares, this would be more on the tame side of haunts. It would be perfect for a child’s first haunt or a fun night of laughs and scares. We had a few scares from the jump scares within the haunt, especially in the well-positioned laser lights! The characters also vibed off of how we were reacting and many improvised with dances, or different phrases which made it more entertaining.. and then just when we weren’t paying attention, they grabbed a quick scare! There were creative props used that we haven’t seen in other haunts in the area,… Read More…

Value6.2

The haunt offers a midway area with games for the kids, live music, food trucks with seating areas, photo ops, and a small merch stand. The haunt is located indoors and is roughly about 10 minutes long, which seemed like a decent length for that style and theme of haunt. Tickets range from $20 and up depending on what kind of ticket option you choose, as there are skip-the-line options available, other than general admission. A recommendation would be to add more games for adults in the midway and perhaps more entertainment while waiting in line. The lines seemed to… Read More…
